Today I had the worst experience here and it wasn’t the first time! Last time I didn’t say anything because I thought to myself maybe it was a one time thing, but clearly it isn’t and the staff needs to think about how they treat costumers, because they will keep losing them, just like they lost me. On top of that the food is not even good, I went there because it’s in a nice location and I figured why not. However for the price that you pay I’d expect a bit more quality and if they can’t offer that at least they can be nice. Instead the guy that worked there started yelling at me to come to the cashier to order when I was trying to show him what I wanted since I don’t speak French very well. He didn’t apologise, but continued to yell until the manager came in the only thing she said is you need to speak French. I think they need to learn English, it is the international language after all and you live in international, touristic place! You can’t expect people to speak French! NEVER GOING BACK...
For tourists: this is not the place to go. I’m an American student studying French in Paris and have visited this bakery twice. Both times I have been treated terribly by the staff. I was very rudely made aware that the student discount was not for me even though I have a French university student card and the second time the lady laughed in my face and would not allow me to pick out the sandwich I wanted after she told me the one I ordered was not available and chose a sandwich to give me rather than letting me pick myself. She laughed in my face and treated me like I was completely and utterly stupid even though I could clearly understand every word she was speaking to me. This is the only place I have been to in all of Paris where I have been poorly treated as a foreigner. There are plenty of bakeries in very close proximity to this one. I have visited most of them and been greeted with nothing but smiles and the employees have been extremely kind to me. I’m upset to say I even spent my money here, do not visit. Take the extra few steps to walk to a bakery next door or near by where you will be treated fairly and the staff will be...
Read moreOn our last night in Paris, we were so excited to find macarons to take back home with us. Our joy was immediately diminished when the shop keeper started yelling at us. I was disappointed by how rude the man was about a simple misunderstanding. He yelled at my 75 year old mother for opening the refrigerator with the macarons. There was a tiny sticker on the door that said do not open, but she couldn’t see it. If you don’t want people to open a clearly very accessible refrigerator, either lock it or move it behind the counter. Yelling at paying customers is ridiculous and at this point an out dated Parisian cliche. Do better. Be...
