They misuse the right to refuse, this benefit is given in France to bars and restaurants to stop people who are highly intoxicated and are a threat, highly unhealthy and possess very bad order or someone who is not wearing appropriate clothes. I am a brown skinned Indian single tourist and i was entering the club alone. No where it was notified that a single person is not allowed. The door man said only with a lady and i said i am tourist so its obvious i don't know anyone. i just want to purchase a drink and listen to music (which is btw like from 2005 ). i was not allowed, i thought it might be the law. I googled about the laws restaurants have in France, it turned up all people are considered equal under the law and cannot be refused on the bases of their "protected characteristics" such as disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, age and religion. I had equal right to enter the place as any girl. i didn't argue on that, but i was shocked when 6 single men were let entry in the club in time span of 10 min. So long as being a couple is publicised as a club-wide standard, rather than just said to certain people its okay but the rule was decided by the doorman and was altered according to him. There is a scope of racist practice too but the person was from African origin, well anyone can be racist the person doesn't have to be white for being racist. The clubs policies are bad i highly recommend you to avoid at all times. its anyways too expensive for what it is.
