Great and approachable dining place. All guests were treated nicely. Good first impression with a brief explanation of the menu and choices that come with the dishes. I chose the 4 course menu for 64€. First impressions definitely matter so they rely heavily on this. First taste was an elegant yellow carrot mousse. For my first wine, the waiter spent a good amount of time to create the correct expectations. First actual plate was full of punchy flavours with depth, complimentary acidities and umami, bold take on very simple and usually flavourless ingredients. In this case the combination of the plate with the wine pairing worked very well. As most courses in good restaurants, there was an ingredient that acts as a subtle bridge from one dish to another. Presentation was elegant, very clean and timely. Service was attentive, pace was consistently good. Great quality to price ratio, including the wines I got served (3 different glasses for 32€) to pair with each dish. The following dishes seemed to go less and less groundbreaking, with very small touches of spice and flair, were more down to earth and focused on delivering a solid course overall. Sauces were very well made, cooking of all items was to the point, temperatures very well...
Read moreWe thought this place was very good, the service was great and they were very accommodating of our dietary needs, specifically, we are pescetarian. As pescetarians they gave us multiple fish courses, I think it ended up being 4 fish courses (we did the 5 course option), the first was a ceviche I think and then next 3 were all pan seared white fish fillets from different fish. We thought the fish was perfectly cooked each time, but felt that the filets were a bit under seasoned and bland, though I'll admit that I like my food salty in general so I wouldn't take a point off for that. The main reason that I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the 3 seared fish filets, while all perfectly cooked, were all so similar that by the end we were a bit bored and tired of eating them. I would say that we would recommend eating here if you want to try the multi course thing in Paris and you have dietary restrictions as they were more than accommodating but maybe don't do 3 seared fish in a row (we ate at a much more expensive place that we didn't think...
Read moreOmg. This is the best restaurant in Paris. I found this place through a Google search and I’m so thrilled I did! My mom and I dined here for my birthday and every single thing was perfect.
From the minute we walked in, we were greeted by the extremely welcoming and lovely staff. They explained the menu concept and provided great recommendations. The food was superb. It’s a crime that the team at Petit Boutary doesn’t have a Michelin star! It absolutely is deserving. Each course was presented like a work of art and tasted impeccable. The house special caviar dish?!! Out of this world! I’ve never tasted anything so divine.
What I love the most is the unpretentious vibe of the place. It feels cozy and accessible with loads of charm. You feel at ease dining here and the staff and whole team contribute to this one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Special thanks to Elias (I hope I got your name right!! Sorry if I’m misremembering) for making my birthday so wonderful.
I will absolutely be a regular and plan to take all my visitors to this...
