After reading so much positive reviews I had a high expectations but unfortunately it didn’t hit the right spot for me. We had 2 starters and 2 mains between the 2 of us and I can’t say I enjoyed any of it that much. I had the chicken liver on toast, the liver tasted almost bitter and had too much on it, the toast was barely noticeable. My fiancé had the scallop cerviche and they were too salty?? I’m not sure how it was marinated but I couldn’t taste any of the scallop flavour but the saltiness. Moving to my main which was the mallard, while the duck breast was cooked nicely I just didn’t enjoy the whole flavour profile, red wine jus was over powering in my view and the duck leg was dry and tasted horrible. My partner had the squid, squid was really good and tender but the bean stew is plain and lacked flavour. All in all it was a disappointing meal and plus all of it was not cheap either. It came to almost 100 euros for just us 2 with 1...

I’m very sorry to write this review, but I have to cos I’ve visited this place because of the good reviews, but unfortunately they are not true. The food is not special and not good, but even is not tasty. Some people here wrote that this place is better than Michelin restaurants, but I guess they’ve never been to one if they say that. The food is plain and there is an attempt to be high cuisine, but it is a huge failure. It’s better if the food was from one region and tasty than from different ones and with no taste. I have to say it’s hard for me to write such a hard review for a small restaurant since I know how much work it takes, but the fact that the knife and fork wasn’t changed between the dishes and was left this way on the table (see the photo), made me feel like I have to warn others...

This place was highly recommended, but it was truly dissapointing. We had 1 entrée, the fried ravioli, and 2 mains, the fish of the day and the veal. Firstly, the citrus in the ravioli overpowered everything else, and all we could taste was the plain fried dough. Moving on to the mains, the fish was cold and tasted of soap, and almost all the other elements of the dish were inedible. There was more effort put to the presentation than the actual dish. The veal, was a depressing piece of over-cooked, hard to chew, meat. The sauce, which was too sugary, didn’t go well with it, and there was a side of mac and cheese that added nothing to the dish. Overall, we felt that the food was not freshly prepared and that the dishes were not...

I dined alone as my travel mate departed earlier today. I am almost glad I visited Picotte on my own so as I had the chance to enjoy the experience without distraction. The waitstaff were all wonderful, welcoming, and helpful. The style of the menu, the regional choices, and descriptions of the meals combined into an entertaining and educational meal. I enjoyed: Cromesquis boudin à la châtaigne, Cabillaud confit écume de Karl Goss, fromage selection, Fontainebleau. The bread was delicious, too. Each dish was its own experience and he presentation was pleasing. All were excellent. I even enjoyed receiving the bill as it was provided in a unique way. Can’t say that’s happened to me before (enjoying receiving the bill, that is).
