Good hotel but they ripped us off during check-in.||We arrived at this hotel in a distressed state after finding the studio we booked uninhabitable because of paint fumes, then trying to book another place on booking.com.and being scammed. We then found this hotel on booking.com...One of only affordable hotels with a vacancy. Couldn't book online so decided to walk there in the heat and book in, in person. When we arrived, they had a room for the 10 days we wanted, at the booking.com rate. After a very slow 20 minute check-in, we were told 'no. we haven't got a room for you after all. People on booking.com have now booked the hotel out while you were booking in'. WTF!!!. We couldn't believe it.||So the owner, on the end of the line to the reception person, offered us 2 nights at his friend's newly renovated apartment for EUR300 a night, then a stay in his hotel, for a greatly increased rate per night from the original rate on booking.com and quoted to us st check-in'. Talk about predatory and opportunistic greed. He knew we were desperate and pounced A depressing indictment on human behaviour!!!!|| We were very grateful for the 'emergency accommodation' at the friend's apartment.. The apartment's owner came and picked us up... but didn't enjoy the wet sheets ..still being dried after washing in preparation for guests the following week.||We stayed at the hotel because Paris was full||The room was good. Clean, quiet good aircon, well located. We didn't have the poor quality breakfast. Mass produced croissants, bread, jam, yoghurt.||Even though the accommodation at this place is good, I can't recommend it because of our truly awful check-in experience. The...
Read moreThis is a relatively new hotel, well located between Republique and Oberkampf metro stations. There are many nice restaurants and shops nearby, as well as a great market on Bd Richard Lenoir. I stayed for 11 days on vacation. The staff is very nice and helpful, even as I had trouble deciphering the fancy coffee and hot water machines in the breakfast area. They were generous in providing recommendations on shopping and places to eat. The hotel itself is very clean, with daily maid service and 2 bottles of mineral water provided each day. The hotel has 4 stories, but no elevator (yet -- one is under construction). My room was on the 2nd floor, on the streetside. Very quiet and comfortable. While there are rooms advertised as "courtyard view", the view is of an unattractive pile of rubble and other buildings, so not something I'd recommend. Breakfast offers coffee, tea, hot chocolate, baguettes, croissants, yogurt, cheese and fruit. It is perfectly adequate as a low stress way to start the day. There are also restaurants nearby that offer breakfast for a similar price. The room has a safe to store valuables, adequate storage for clothing and electrical outlets. Good quality bedding and blackout curtains. It would be nice to have a bit more space for placing toiletries in the otherwise nicely sized bathroom, as well as a minifridge. The weather was quite warm during my stay and with a centrally controlled thermostat, there was no way for me to cool down the room a bit more on warm nights. I would definitely consider...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this hotel, from the room’s cleanliness and overall condition to the poor service.
First, the cleanliness: the bathroom smelled moldy and had visible mold on the floor. The toilet seat and faucet were both broken. The bathroom was extremely hazardous, being slippery and flooding completely during showers. The low-quality curtains were more suited to a one-star hotel, and there was no space to put our belongings, forcing us to keep them on top of the toilet seat. The room itself had holes in the walls, which was quite distressing.
The service was equally appalling. The manager was rude and seemed incompetent. The hotel had a kitchen that appeared open, so my daughter and I took a yogurt, only to be told by the manager that it was closed and only available for breakfast, which we had missed by a few minutes. When I asked where the rules or hours were posted, he curtly responded that the dimmed lights indicated it was closed.
The front desk staff were no better. They seemed more interested in playing PlayStation or doing anything other than their jobs. The reception desk was often unattended, and when staffed, the employees consistently had bad attitudes.
Overall, this hotel deserves at most a two-star rating. We sincerely hope they do not renew their operating license until they make significant...
