restaurant al assil — Restaurant in Paris

We chose this restaurant based on its high ratings, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the hype. Coming from England, we were expecting the same standard of Lebanese cuisine we’re used to back home, but the food here simply didn’t compare. The quality was disappointing, and I feel it’s only fair to share this so others can make an informed decision and avoid wasting their time and money. In my opinion, the positive reviews are quite misleading.

In response to managers below post, firstly it’s not the Mrs writing this, it’s the Mr - so you should stop assuming - I don’t speak Arabic.. I indeed had the beef and it was disgusting and gave me a bad stomach. Insanely good food!!! I spotted the baklava while walking and I knew this had to be good by the way it looked. It certainly exceeded my expectations. The beef schawarma was masterfully done with sesame oil which is a very difficult ingredient to balance in the food and can easily burn, it was perfectly balanced, perfectly cooked. I always had a slight discomfort with hummus, but their hummus was hands down the best!! The baklavas are very similar in taste throughout the variations they have and the experience differs mostly by their shape and texture. The best place I have ever been to in Paris, I was there for one week, and i went there in my 3rd day, and to be honest the food and sweets were really really good. I start going there every day with my family and friends, it was so enjoyable. As you can see in the picture below we took lots of the sweets and food with us to London. It will be the first place I will go to when I visit France again. This place deserve 10 stars not just 5.
