I’ve been looking forward to go to Biscotte since we booked it two weeks ago and it was truely great! Very cozy environment with friendly staff.
Started with the octopus as starter, pesto sauce was fresh and nutty, I believe the octopus could be slightly more tender but in all still very tasty. Sirloin was very well cooked! Perfectly cooked, pink in the middle and caramelized on bottom. The gnocchi was unexpectedly tasty! I believe it’s made with cheese and nicely fried to have a crispy bottom. However fish is a bit average.
The dessert were AMAZING! Probably the best sorbet I’ve tasted in my life! Perfect combination of hibiscus jelly with grapefruit sorbet, the bitterness and sourness blended perfectly well! Super refreshing! Nice thoughts has been put into boiling the grapefruit skin to take away majority of bitterness however remains as an ingredient for citrus oil. Only thing I could say is that the hibiscus jelly could be much stronger - I only see the nice dark red color but could barely taste hibiscus.
The chocolate dessert was pretty amazing as well, difficult textures of crunchy, fluffy, crispy, nutty bits in the middle; it brings so much complexity! Loved every bits of it.
Price was very reasonable as well for such good quality of food in Paris. I’d definitely take my friends over for...
Read moreI rarely write reviews for restaurants, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Restaurant Biscotte, where I enjoyed my best meal in Paris. I ordered a three-course meal, and each dish was a beautifully crafted example of French creative cuisine. Between courses, they served some snacks, all of which were delicious. My favourite was the appetiser—seasoned tomato with crumbles, with an incredible sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked and very tender. I chose a sweet wine that was so delicious I ordered a second glass. The food was so exceptional that I asked about the six-course menu in the middle of my meal, but I was too full to order it. The waitress spoke limited English but made an effort to explain each dish patiently. Her service was exceptional, especially for Paris. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the city. Although the 15th arrondissement is not a major tourist area, this restaurant is well worth a visit, as it offered the best meal I had during my 10-day...
Read moreWe arrived at 9:20 PM and noticed three empty tables along with two open seats at the bar. Despite this, we were told the restaurant was fully booked for the night and that they could not accommodate us. It was a disappointing and disheartening experience.
While we may not have been dressed as formally as the other guests, many of whom wore button-up shirts and slacks, we came prepared to enjoy a full meal and spend just as much as anyone else. Even an offer to order from a limited menu or to sit at the bar would have been appreciated. Instead, we felt dismissed and unwelcome.
After reading other reviews, it seems that we are not the only ones who felt this way. We might consider giving it another try later in our trip and updating our thoughts if the experience changes. In the meantime, we hope the staff can work toward making walk-in guests feel more welcome. A little warmth and flexibility can make a...
