Afaria — Restaurant in Paris

This may be the first time that I was compelled to write a review even as I was still waiting for a desert. Because the experience was awful I have no complaints about the food but good food doesn't compensate bad behavior and attitude. I don't know what it was, felt extremely judgmental and borderline racist. Cause I saw her her smiling at all tables except us. We were a large group of 16. Our entree/plats were predecided and was booked in advance so no confusion on that front. But a little fork dropped by my 4 year old was pointed as if he has done a big crime. Adults can drop a cutlery! There is a way of saying, she looked at my child with disgust while pointing out to me he has dropped his fork! Are you serious ! he is a very well behaved kid. I have lived in paris for 4 years and been to several posh restaurants and never have experienced an attitude such as this. And if you have a problem with kids you should point that upfront, this was informed prior booking the restaurant. This place needs to check its...

Made a reservation a bit in advance. When we arrived the server got us confused with another group so at first thought that we did not have a seat. He quickly fixed that though!

We got the shrimp and avocado appetizer. My mom really liked the shrimp! The server also kindly split the appetizer into two dishes for us since we told him we would split it. Thoughtful!

We ordered duck breast. It was quite raw, more than I was used to. We got it medium, so maybe that’s what it was. My mom was able to stomach it fine, though she did think it was a bit more on the not as cooked side.

But what truly made our dining experience exceptional was the outstanding service from Celia ✨️ She was attentive, knowledgeable, and warm - guiding us through the menu with passion and making sure every need was met with a smile.
