Response to owner* We were sweating due to not being used to the very high humidity of France, not due to being sick. We ate at 2 other establishments prior to yours without issue. I told you my wife was jetlagged because I was very embarrassed that my wife had vomited and that I could not even eat a bite of the appetizer. After being in Paris for 2 weeks It became clear the quality of your establishment was not great so I made the decision to write a review. The appetizer I had smelt like a wet dog covered in feces. It was the nastiest representation of foie gras served to me -period. The whipped egg dish my wife had made her vomit. The main dishes were edible but lacked any memorable flavor. We ate at 28 different restaurants in Paris, this was the worst.
original review--This was the first and only restaurant in Paris that served me a dish I could not eat. The appetizer's my wife and I ate tasted sour and spoiled. The main course was good but underwhelming for the price. We did not make it to desert because the appetizers ended up making my wife sick. I appreciated that the hostess did not charge me the whole menu price since we did not make it...
Read moreLa Blavet is my favorite restaurant in Paris and one I make a point to visit every time I'm in the city.
A friend I work with introduced me to it and I've brought many here over the years to introduce them to this wonderful place, and they've all fallen in love with it just as I did the first time I came.
The menu is simple with just a few choices, but everything I've tried has been wonderful. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, and you can tell the chefs put care into each dish. The ravioli with shrimp entree is so flavorful in the sauce. The sole main is a standout and the chocolate cake is the perfect indulgence to end a meal.
The owner is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. She’s very helpful and speaks great English to help navigate you to make the best decisions. The atmosphere is cozy and charming. It’s close to a subway stop so getting here is easy.
I cannot recommend La Blavet highly enough for anyone looking for a top-notch French dining experience in Paris. The food, service and ambiance all come together to create a memorable evening without being...
Read moredon't go! I mean it don't! save your money for something worth. the starter egg casserole with foie gras, mushroom was WAY too oily and salty. the chef cooked the duck nicely but was not worth the price. heard them microwaving food. "beep" "beep" I was like omg 😭 I took my partner here for our anniversary. reviews got to be fake.
Message to the owner: Instead of getting defensive at the bad reviews. Say sorry, because it was a bad experience for us. 🤦
Edit: Why are you microwaving food if it's so good when it's supposed to be "fresh"? And of course you are smiling you just...
