Rhinocéros Bar — Restaurant in Paris

The bar staff do not understand the concept of customer service. I regularly visited the Rhinoceros Bar after work on a Friday just before and just after the COVID restrictions. Many of my colleagues disliked the bar but it was convenient to meet there. In September 2022 I experienced the worst customer service I have experienced in Paris in the last 18 years. I bought a beer which was clearly "off" so I tried to return the pint completely untouched along with a second pint from a colleague who had taken one sip and recoiled at the awful taste. The bar staff responded with instantaneous fury at the mere suggestion that the beer was sub-standard and, after much gesticulation and angry words (the conversation was completed in French) from the bar staff, my colleague and I walked out of the bar perplexed and disgusted by the their behaviour. Amazingly, one member of the bar staff then chased after us to complain that we had not paid for the beer: that's not paying for 2 undrinkable beers that were returned immediately to the bar! Apparently, we were not "cool": the inference being that we were somehow stealing from them. At this point I promised I would write this Google Review. I am late, but better late than...

A fuir absolument !!!! J'ai été invitée à un pot de départ professionnel hier de collègues diplomates (ceci n'est pas de l'arrogance mais c'est pour camper le décor, des gens dont les qualités principales sont la diplomatie, le tact et le sens du contact). Nous étions donc une vingtaine de personnes consommant boissons sur boissons mais nous nous sommes fait crier dessus tout au long de la soirée par les serveurs et les serveuses qui ont manifestement oublié leur professionnalisme, leur sympathie, leur sens commercial et leur bonne foi chez eux à cause de la canicule (elle a bon dos mais ce sont les seules raisons que j'ai pu trouver pour essayer de justifier un accueil catastrophique dénué de tout humanisme et debtoute bienveillance). Bref, le tout était extrêmement désagréable et nous avons donc migré dans un café à 50 m de la et avons trouvé un accueil opposé et professionnel. Donc je déconseille quiconque dont l'objectif est de passer une bonne soirée d'aller au Rhinocéros. Passez le mot et fuyez...

Pleasant, welcoming atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. Excellent choices of beers and few, but great options for eating. The hot dog and the baked cheese with honey are very good!
