I may be unable to be unbiased on this one. There were two-three little service imperfections, and I did have very high expectations: I expected better. it is not fair that I was at Saison the night before: I was coming off a blow-out experience.
I couldn't understand one of the waiters/bus boys: thick latin accent. And with the menu being so special, I wanted to hear was I was being served. I had decided I was going to ask for a change of waiters, but fortunately he stopped coming over before I had to make that call.
They took 5-10 minutes to get us an answer about a wine question we had. Specifically, their wine expert was busy evidently. At one point while we were sitting there, waiting, another waiter came over to see if we wanted to order anything to drink, which only reminded us (and perhaps them) that we felt forgotten regarding our quick question about one of the bottles.
I can definitely recommend the food as outstanding.
My date said it was incredible and the service was impeccable. So there you have it!
Unless you have a specific wine question and you get the exact combination of waiters we got, you won't have any of the issues we had so you'll surely have an...
Read moreMy husband and I read online that this place is a wine bar as well as a restaurant. When we arrived, I asked in (beginner’s) French if we could get a table for 2 people to just drink wine (since we already ate). The host said “oh come with me” and pointed across the street to a dive bar and said “go there and you can drink beer and watch your big TV.”
My advice for Les Saisons is to not be cruel to would-be patrons who are genuinely trying to learn the local language and experience the local culture. I really wanted to try the wine here but I was kicked out and insulted because of prejudice. If the issue was simply that they didn’t want to seat 2 people for just drinks when they could be filling those seats with higher-paying diners, we would have understood; there was no need to humiliate us and tell us to go drink beer and watch TV at a dive bar when we said nothing about beer or TV. There were also plenty of open seats.
Do better,...
Read moreCan really recommend this place. Extremely friendly, kind, and fun service. Great food and wine. We had just gotten into Paris after 9 hours on the train with two kids! So we were starving and the kids antsy. The got a charcuterie board out right away so we could start snacking on something. 3 delicious saussicon and 2 terrine/pate…the one with chicken liver was the favorite. A cote de boeuf for 2 was served perfectly a point having been cooked lots of delicious garlic. My friend got lamb and ratatouille, which he raved about. As expected with a good French bistro, good value for money wines: we had a white Burgundy and a red Cotes du Rhone. The staff was super friendly. One of the guys even showed our kids pictures of his pet snake, which was a big hit. This is the kind of place I would come to regularly if I lived here and it seemed that many of the other guests were...
