I was very excited to discover that there's a Kazakh restaurant in Paris as I am from Kazakhstan. For my birthday, I invited my friends (we were about 8), three of them are vegetarians.
Firstly, the food was below average. I was disappointed in mantys (one of my favorites from home) as the dough around the meat was too glutinous and the meat was tasteless covered in spices, which were not at all traditional. Plus, the mantys were made without any pumpkin (usually in KZ, the meat is mixed a bit with pumpkin). Furthermore, all portions were very very small.
Secondly, the service was atrocious. The waiter glared at those in the party who said they were vegetarian and would like to order only an appetizer. He tried to push them to order a meat dish and when they refused, he had a very offended look. He then mostly ignored us. He did not bring us water (only refilled once very tiny glasses upon request) and he kept going outside to smoke about every 3-4 minutes. Even the bread basket was meagre with only three or four thinly sliced breads, and of course, it was never refilled throughout the whole evening. Clearly four slices of bread for a party of 8 was not enough, especially considering the tiny portions of the very badly prepared food.
Lastly, to top everything off, the waiter overcharged us 8€ and then refused to give them back when we did the math until I asked him to redo the math in front of me. Only then did he say "oh ok, here". There was absolutely no apology but there was a defensive attitude as if to say "how dare you disgrace me by claiming I am overcharging you," which is clearly was! This made me wonder if he did it on purpose or not, his recalcitrant attitude to recalculate makes me suspect the former.
Altogether this was an awful and a shameful experience. I am disappointed that this is the only restaurant in Paris that advertises itself to serve Kazakh food. Our culture is very hospitable and the food is delicious and both of those aspects were not at all present at this restaurant during our visit. It's WAY overpriced even if the food would have been good. The food was awful and the service was even worse. I discourage anyone from coming anywhere near this place. Honestly, I think all these other positive reviews are fake because if this waiter has been working there the whole time and the kitchen staff too, there's no way to give this restaurant any review above one star. If I could give this place a 0 or a negative...

Hi, this is our first time trying out Uzbekistan food for a Singaporean family. It all started out full of curious while looking through the menu. Staff are helpful to our enquiries, which eventually completed our orders after some time. The restaurant was beautiful decorated, lots of traditional ornaments among the tables & chairs. Uzbekistan cuisines are healthy & tasty 😋, we cleared every bits on the plates. I would like to recommend the beef stew with rice grain, absolutely 💯 delicious & comforting food. A heartfelt thank you for introducing Uzbekistan food to us. We loved it so much that we kept adding orders. Of course, in the end, our dinner was certainly a "fulfilled" & enjoyable event. Thank you for your kind...
