I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Malte - Astotel during my recent trip to Paris, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of the city, this charming boutique hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the Louvre Museum, Palais Royal, and several metro stations, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing.
The hotel itself exudes Parisian charm, with its elegant decor and inviting ambiance. My room was beautifully decorated, blending classic French style with modern amenities. It was immaculately clean, spacious, and equipped with a comfortable bed, high-quality linens, and a well-appointed bathroom. The complimentary minibar, stocked with soft drinks, was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall comfort.
One of the standout features of Hotel Malte is the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the warm welcome at check-in to the helpful assistance with directions and recommendations, every interaction was marked by genuine friendliness and professionalism. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable and stress-free.
The hotel offers a delightful breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options, including fresh pastries, fruits, cheeses, and hot dishes. The quality of the food was excellent, and the dining area was cozy and inviting. Additionally, the hotel's complimentary afternoon tea, with a selection of snacks and beverages available in the lobby, was a lovely bonus after a day of exploring the city.
Another unique aspect of Hotel Malte is the Astotel Open Bar concept, which allows guests to enjoy free non-alcoholic drinks and snacks at any of the Astotel properties throughout Paris. This feature came in handy during my sightseeing excursions and added great value to my stay. my experience at Hotel Malte - Astotel was nothing short of perfect. The combination of its prime location, beautiful accommodations, outstanding service, and thoughtful amenities make it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Paris. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay in the City of Light. I look forward to returning on my next...
Read moreThis hotel felt like a boutique hotel. The inside looked nice and just felt very welcoming for some reason. The area felt safe. The people were friendly. I really liked that they had a mini fridge that they kept stocked for us and afternoon snacks. Our stay included breakfast, although it wasn't amazing in my opinion. I actually spit my bite of sausage out into my napkin after trying and failing to swallow it.
Unfortunately, it kind of felt like a facade. Like, yes, there were afternoon snacks but not very good ones. Yes, there was soda in my mini fridge but it was Pepsi instead of coke. Lol. I picked the place hugely because they advertise AC. While they do have AC, there's a sign explaining that it's only used in the summer. So we had to sleep with the window open which was actually quite pleasant except it wasn't a super private experience and some bird woke me up like my own personal alarm clock. The bathroom was weird in that there was only a partial glass wall (like really small and it had hinges for some reason) and I couldn't figure out how to keep the shower water from splashing out. Speaking of showers, they don't provide washcloths. Towels? Yes. Hand towels? Also, yes. Wash clothes? Woah, buddy, that's where they draw the line. Lol I think it's a French thing. Anyway, you better pack your own if you're into that kind of thing.
Given all this, I still would have given the hotel four stars if it hadn't been for the one huge issue I had. The main thing I need in a hotel room is somewhere comfortable to sleep, and the bed wasn't comfortable. It was haaaard, and that's something I just can't overlook because I'm usually only in the room to sleep. And I'm not some bed snob. If it's kind of comfortable, I'm good. If I'm saying it's not comfortable, it truly has issues. I mean, after my husband mentioned it, we actually looked to make sure the mattress wasn't a box spring or upside down or something.
I wouldn't stay again for that reason only. All the other stuff was...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed seven nights at Hotel Malte in June 2023, and it was a wonderful experience! We've been to Paris together several times before, and this was the best service we've received.
I'll give the negatives first. The rooms are very small. We spent time in both a Superior Double and a Standard Double, and neither one gives you much extra space. The front door requires someone at the desk to push a button to let you in, but we never had to wait - someone was always there. And the air conditioning in our room failed on our second night, was repaired, and then failed again the next morning.
Now that I've given you the negatives, let me tell you why I'm giving the hotel five stars! The air conditioning issue was a huge problem and could have led to a terrible experience, but Hotel Malte stepped up to make it right. They were aware of the problem before we were, and they did get it fixed at first the same day, so that we had a comfortable night of sleep after that. But when it failed a second time, the hotel moved us to another room... and gave us a 50% discount on our entire week-long stay! That was truly above and beyond behavior, and completely erased any ill will I felt toward the hotel.
Beyond that, I loved our time at Hotel Malte. They were happy to indulge me with my passable French, and their English was excellent whenever I needed it. The room was totally comfortable despite the small size. The food and coffee being available in the lobby pretty much anytime was wonderful, as was the mini-bar contents (cold drinks) being included.
And the location is absolutely unbeatable! We were right in the heart of Paris, and we walked absolutely everywhere. Great restaurants nearby, right down the street from the Palais Royal, everything was fantastic.
The facilities at Hotel Malte are great, especially breakfast and snacks in the lobby, but the people are what really set them apart. Outstanding service, and I really appreciated how well they...
