Five stars is not enough. I have never enjoyed myself so much at a restaurant.
I had a reservation and came early, I was seated immediately in the basement which was very calm and peaceful. Éric was too kind and explained the entire menu to me in English and was very knowledgeable about the food. His recommendations were amazing.
I had the jamon with melon and a pasta dish, and a chocolate tart for dessert. The food was a wonderful balance of simple and complex: great quality ingredients and very balanced flavors. The portion sizes were perfect!
Éric also gave me wine recommendations for each course, Italian wine is my favorite and his was the best and paired very well. Every Italian restaurant I go to I am always searching for Lambrusco, he had two kinds and let me try them both.
The real beauty of this place and experience is not in the food or the wine however, it is in Éric's passion and love for the restaurant experience of high quality food and service. His talent is a gift and I was too lucky to have the opportunity to dine here. He was so welcoming and kept checking to see how I was enjoying myself.
I would return to Paris just for this restaurant. My thanks to Éric and the entire staff. If you are interested enough in this restaurant to be reading the reviews, stop reading them and go to try it, you will not be...
Read moreThis was probably my favorite restaurant I visited during my trip to Paris, we were absolutely blown away by the level of quality and flavors at Via Emilia, offering an authentic Italian meal at a very reasonable price.
Guanciale Ricotta Fumée - the flavor and texture of both the guanciale and the smoked ricotta were both very amazing, rich and high quality
Tortellini Pesto Ricotta and Tortellini Truffle - both cooked perfectly al dente, handmade pasta, high quality, and very good flavors
The meat inside the tortellini had good flavor too.
Tried a tigelle with prosciutto and eggplant (kind of like a little sandwich or wrap), really enjoyed the texture and flavor of the bread and eggplant
The tiramisu was super fresh, one of the better tiramisus I've had (comparable to ones I've had in Italy)
It's a cute little restaurant, we went with no reservation and they were able to seat us at the bar (but I'd recommend making reservations). The owner/server was so friendly and helped us to understand their French-only menu.
My favorite restaurant that I went to in Paris, hopefully I can come...
Read moreSimple wow! We came across this little gem on our recent trip to Paris. It’s a small space but oh how accommodating are the people! We were pleasantly surprised when we showed up without a reservation and they gave us their last lunch spot. Best time to go is before 1pm if you don’t have a reservation. There is still a chance you will find a table. A lot of people were turned away after we came in. Our toddler fell asleep in his stroller and we have one of the bigger strollers which is not ideal for a city like Paris, but they were very welcoming and made room for him to sleep in peace while we enjoyed our delicious meal!
The burrata is to die for! You can’t go here and not have their burrata. One of the best we’ve had in a while. The aubergine sandwich is also delicious. We had the ravioli which was good. And don’t skip the Tiramisu! It was scrumptious!
Overall an amazing experience, great quality food and very...
