Thank you Le Comptoir Boutary for such a wonderful experience! This was our first restaurant we ate at during my first visit to France. It is also my most favorite restaurant I have eaten at āŗļø, even more than some Michelin starred ones! š«¢š¤«
We made a reservation online. They did say they called us the day of to confirm the reservation but we didnāt pick up (and the server seemed a little frustrated). We couldnāt help that as we were flying to France at that time! Luckily, we were able to get a seat still. I recommend that in the future there would be an online or email reservation confirmation system. It would have sucked to miss out on this wonderful experience because of something we could not have helped!
Besides that, everything was lovely. They had an English menu (yay!) and told us that this restaurant used to farm and sell caviar, I believe. I picked the caviar with potatoes dish. It was very delicious (creamy and a bit tart, and the caviar elevated the entire flavor profile). Good texture combinations as well.
For entrees, we got the pigeon and the mushroom w/ gnocchi. The pigeon was perfectly cooked and the assorted vegetables with foie gras was a heavenly combination of richness and lightness/tartness. The gnocchi looked like scallops (aka they were phat š). There were many different types of mushrooms. Overall two very great entrees.
For the dessert we ordered meringue with ice cream, a sorbet, and some tomato related stuff. Nothing was too sweet. Everything tasted light, fluffy, and sweet.
We had a glass of white wine to share since we donāt drink much, and that was delightful as well.
I think their high ratings on google maps is well warranted.. I hope you come try...
Ā Ā Ā Read morehonestly cannot recommend Atelier PĆ¢tisserie Paris (at Le Comptoir Boutary) enough ā it was one of the absolute highlights of my birthday trip to Paris with my friends!
It was really easy to find and meet up at the venue and we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful Chef Danielle Ghazal, who instantly made us feel at ease.
She was so kind, patient and incredibly knowledgeable ā the perfect guide for our afternoon of pĆ¢tisserie-making magic. We made a stunning croquembouche and the entire experience felt like something out of a dream. We laughed, learned and created something delicious and beautiful ā it was truly unforgettable.
What made it even more special was how accommodating Danielle was. One of my friends is lactose intolerant and Danielle didnāt miss a beat ā she had alternative ingredients ready and made sure my friend could join in fully without feeling left out. That thoughtfulness really stood out and made the day even more meaningful.
This class is an absolute must if you're planning a girly trip to Paris. Whether it's for a birthday, hen do, or just something unique and fabulous to do with friends, this experience ticks all the boxes. It was elegant, fun, hands-on and utterly delightful.
Thank you, Danielle, for such a magical birthday memory ā you truly made our Parisian adventure...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDinner with my partner, we shared foie gras gyoza for a starter. I had confit of pork breast for a main, my partner had fish. Then a coffe and parsnip for dinner while she had a cheese dessert. The food was good overall, although it didn't not quite live up to the expectations or the price. The pork breast was very good. The desserts were disappointing and it appeared they were trying too hard to be creative with them. The service was unfortunately quite poor. Once the restaurant filled up, it seemed the waiter simply forgot about us (and the table next to us as well). We waited 10-15 minutes just to see the menu for dessert (and had to remind the waiter). Then we waited another 15 minutes in front of empty plates for the table to be cleared or to pay the bill. At the end, I went up to the counter because we could not get the waiters attention. For the price, I would expect the food to be more special and the service to be at...
