I ordered a salad nicoise which has tuna but as is always stated either fresh caught or not. (Other restaurants had it specified correctly down the street but their kitchen wasn’t open yet. ) I took two bites it was TERRIBLE! Canned tuna tired sauce and half filled with rice. I mentioned that it wasn’t noted in the menu regarding fresh vs canned and that it also wasn’t good. He pretended not to understand what I said( although his colleague understood immediately when she came by) I had ordered the ‘menu’ And so instead I asked for a soup. He brought the soup and charged me for the menu with the salad and added the soup. This meant a bill of at least double. I had intended on giving him the actual difference in tip as I felt badly for him. ( about 20 euros. ) the colleague agreed with me and said he probably didn’t know that it happened. So I asked him about it and he acted in the same helpless way he had before. “Well you know they charge it that way” I had I intended to pay the same amount anyway but his pretense was just such bs and proves to me that the bottom line is that this place is not concerned about quality or service. This was by far the worst place I've eaten in my life. I went there with friends and family whilst waiting to catch the train. Foie gras was ok. The steaks were burnt and smelt bad. When we complained we were told that we had already tasted the food so we had to pay. And that they did not care what we thought as they make good food. We couldn't even finish 2 steaks between 5 people. They became very aggressive and ordered us to leave. The level of arrogant and impoliteness from waiter is un imaginable. Never had such an horrible experience in my life. From my perspective as Parisian their treatment to tourists is unbelievably rude. They don't even deserve one star. That old waiter and his lousy mouth my goodness ..!!

If you want to eat or drink around gare de nord train station .I think "l'étoile de nord par Thierry Marx" inside train station is quite nice place, specially service by young, dynamic and very professional waiters .
