WorkshoW PARIS — Restaurant in Paris

Came to Workshop with 6 buddies and surprisingly we were able to find a table quite quickly. Workshop itself turned out to be pretty average in most things. The decor is average. The ambiance is average. The staff, while eccentric are generally average in performance. The prices are average, not good not terrible. The one part where Workshop steps outside the average category is their approach in SHUTTING DOWN THE RESTAURANT.

Closing time for Workshop Paris on Friday nights is 2AM. Last night we had just ordered our second drink at 1:10am (fifty minutes before closing) and returned to our table. The staff had just started shutting down the terrace. 10 minutes later the staff had us move tables to a center table so they could do something with our table near the window. At 1:30am we were asked to leave.

I understand you want to go home Workshop staff, but you spoiled our drink and our evening. You would be better served by placing your customers' needs ahead of your own during business hours. Alternatively, shut your doors...

Perfect concept: pay for your time (4 euros for the first hour, 2 for any after, unless it's after 5 pm) studying or working there, with plenty of snacks and coffee to keep you going. Although the snacks are easily self-serve, staff will help you with the espresso machine - even make you a cappuccino!

If you come just to chat with friends or coworkers, there's lots of seating upstairs, especially by the window to people watch. They currently can't serve alcohol because of some problems with the prefecture, but hopefully that gets sorted soon and it can be a nice after-school/work hang-out spot.

For the more studious, or more serious group meetings, the downstairs area is quieter and has a big board for you to throw your ideas up on. If you're still skeptical of working here, the cherry on top of it all: printing and copying services...

A éviter. Nous avions réservé pour un anniversaire longtemps à l'avance, précisant que nous demandions le menu frenchy : planches de charcuterie et de fromage, bouteilles de vin. Une fois arrivés, on nous installé dans un espace qui s'est avéré avoir été aussi réservé par un autre groupe, nous étions donc à l'étroit, et cela a créé quelques conflits avec le groupe d'à côté. Aucune excuse du personnel. Après près d'une demi heure d'attente, on vient prendre notre commande pour l'apéro. L service était pour le moins laborieux. Sur six boisson commandées, 4 erreurs. Vingt minutes pour être servis. Mon spritz n'avait pas de goût. Après de multiples sollicitations auprès des serveurs nous arrivons enfin à réclamer le menu. Il n'ont plus de vin un samedi soir à 22 heures (sérieusement c'est possible?). Et au lieu de nous amener les planches de charcuterie et de fromage on se retrouve avec des tacos et des beignets. Quand on signale l'erreur on nous répond que non, c'est ce qu'on a commandé. Il faut insister pour avoir notre vraie commande. Accrochez vous pour redemander du pain, les serveurs détournent le regard quand vous leur faites signe. Toilettes très sales. Seul point positif, la charcuterie et le fromage étaient...
