Le Cambusier — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

Unfortunately the service really disappointed. At every step of our visit we had to wait an unusually long amount of time. I like to take time over a meal but this became uncomfortable and unreasonable. It culminated when after finally getting the bill we waited about half an hour more to pay, despite asking several times for the card machine and there only being 1 other table left in the restaurant. This was a real shame as the food was, in places, exceptional. The sharing 'spreadables' were delicious and unique. The Pollock with Cauliflower was gorgeous and the pork belly fantastic. Prices are on the plus side but reasonable for this quality of food. Perhaps there was some missing link in the service staff for that evening but regardless we came away discussing the long waits and not the quality...

We were in Saint-Malo for just a couple of days so choosing the right place to end each evening was important.

We visited as a family of four (two you, often picky, teenagers included!). The menu here was a great mix of exotic and commonplace. The key was the quality of both the ingredients and the cooking.

As ever, the prices here in France are significantly less for much higher quality than you might find in similar establishments elsewhere. Simply choosing from the set menu bought us some wonderful food and we will be back on our next trip.

A pleasant find in the ramparts of St Malo. Simple dining area with nice ambiance, service was friendly and attentive. Centred around a set menu, they also offer seafood (oysters/whelks) and snacking options for a lighter bite.

Fantastic oysters. The sea bream carpaccio had excellent flavour however was served a little on the warm side. Cod main course with parmesan risotto and crustacean cream was delightful and we even tried the desserts. There is an extensive wine list with a French focus and at reasonable value.
