Well then, let's stop this pointless argument. Unfortunately, you have made a mistake. But you also have guts enough to admit this mistake. Chapeau, Sir! And besides, I was not entirely innocent in this misunderstanding, either. I should have checked the bill before paying, that would have saved you and me a lot of trouble and time. And the actually ridiculous amount of 8,00€ is also not worth continuing this useless dispute. If I should come to the beautiful Perigord once more in the next few years, I will visit your restaurant again. Then we will shake hands and consign all this nonsense here to oblivion. Because one thing should be given to the interested readers of this review: the dishes you get at "L'Entrepôte" are really very good!

This post is in reference to the restaurant owner's response to my review dated 9/25/2022.

Please do not insinuate that I am not able to read and understand a bill! I will now send you the relevant data of the invoice in question. 23/09/2022 19:37 Table : 103 Couverts : 2 Serveur : Administrateur A. ... Imprimé le 23/09/22 - 21:09

In the penultimate place you will find the entry "1 Moelleux A La Noix - 8,00€. So this "Moelleux à la Noix" was charged twice, since it is acually already part of the menu! You know, mistakes happen. But when they happen, they should be recognized as such. And you should certainly not imply to your guests that they are not able to read, check and understand an invoice! Such behavior discredits you...

Went there with friends who liked this restaurant a lot a few years ago.

Tdlr: ok, but expensive. Can find better alternative. Very limited for veg.

Starter: foie Gras. Really good, apart from the 2 bites of toasted bread. More would be welcomed. 2nd: tomato soup: pretty good.

Main: pork. Nice meat, juicy. BBQ glaze was almost tasteless. Mashed potato pretty good. Pork near the bone wasn't fully cooked though. 2nd: rice salad (veg). Pretty good fo4 a rice salad. Still a 20e+ rice salad ...

Dessert: "the star" profiterole canele style. Understand: canele cut in half with one scoop of vanilla ice cream bathing in chocolate sauce and with some Chantilly on top. I could bet the chocolate sauce was the cheap kind, with no chocolate at all (industrial, not home made). Presentation was lacking. Friends told us it was better before. The dessert was good, not wow, but very expensive imo (11e).

Service: meh. Managed to get some of our orders wrong 3 times (relatively minor inconvenience though).

All in all: I wouldn't...

Awful touristy restaurant with an odd Asian / French menu. Food was terrible and the bread was stale. The kids menu food came out within 30 seconds of ordering (always a very bad sign) and the mash was lumpy and not mashed properly. The adult food (starters) came out after the kids had finished so they had to watch us eat. Our main courses (the duck and pork) were a disaster and had the texture and tasted like they had come out of the microwave. The odd duck pancake thing was dry and tough and the pork was pink and wobbly. All in all the worst meal we had in 2 weeks of travelling in France. But maybe it’s to be expected in a touristy town like Sarlat? However, for us this is definitely not a 4.5 restaurant, and this restaurant is definitely not worth a detour. Service was ok (the young servers were very attentive) but the older chap literally threw his toys out of his pram when I mentioned the stale bread and lacklustre mains. The only positives were that the cheese course and wine were pretty good - but who can...

On a rainy night in Sarlat, we were glad to have a table inside. The seating was a bit close, so I was staring at a couple at the next table. The food menu offers interesting twists for Sarlat - some work, some don't. The sea bream carpaccio was delicious, but the prawn dish was less so. The foie gras & duck my partner had were both good. The deconstructed profiteroles were tasty. The red wine was very drinkable. Overall, it was a good meal but not a great meal.
