Smokey Monkey — Restaurant in Strasbourg

To be sure, the place I am refering to is located behind Okko Hotel Strasbourg, opposite Indiana Cafe. To Asians thinking of going there, beware and be aware the staff there are racist. My colleagues & I went there last Friday to have dinner after work (we were on a business trip). We sat there for 10mins, no one attended to us. Later the girl behind the counter talked to 1 of the staff there. He then walked over and spoke loudly in French. As we didn't speak French, we asked if he spoke any English. He asked again in French. We tried asking again if he spoke any English. He replied (in English): "We are in France, I am French, I speak French." He asked (in English) so what did we want. All this while, he kept gesturing & pointing in my friend's face with a cork opener. Needless to say, we were stunned and unsure if he was trying to be funny or serious. We asked for menus, he fetched them reluctantly & dropped them on my table. We left without ordering. I wonder what about us offended him, was it because: we were Chinese (Malaysians), Asian women, not wearing Prada & carrying LV bags, our skin too yellow or all of the above? If anyone is thinking how can we deem him a racist; after dropping the menus, he went to serve the table behind us who were locals who just came in. His tone to them was friendly unlike how he spoke to us. This experience totalling spoiled the good image of the people of Strasbourg, especially those in the service industry. The man was rude, obnoxious, threatening and discriminating. I am in the customer service department and what he did was totally unforgivable & unacceptable; we do NOT threaten customers. If they did not want to serve Asians, put a sign (in English) to warn them not to enter. Or perhaps they are sadists who enjoy humiliating people and making a show of it in front of other patrons. To rate this cafe I had only the option to choose a star, I would have preferred to rate this cafe and its staff with another symbol instead but that would be too impolite in this...

Bonjour! J'étais une cliente fidèle et j'ai toujours été satisfaite de la qualité et de la taille de vos portions. Cependant, ma dernière visite m'a malheureusement laissée une impression très négative. J'ai attendu ma commande pendant une longue période, bien qu'il y ait eu peu de clients dans le restaurant. De plus, lorsque j'étais avec un ami, vous avez complètement oublié sa commande. Nous avons attendu 40 minutes, et après l'avoir signalé, nous avons dû attendre 20 minutes supplémentaires. Pour 12 euros, je n'ai reçu que deux tacos au lieu des trois habituels, et il manquait les frites. J'ai demandé à emporter ma commande, mais elle a été emballée de telle sorte que toute la garniture est tombée. Ils ont mis le mauvais côté dessus. Je suis très déçue que la qualité du service et des portions ait autant diminué. Je ne prévois plus de revenir dans votre établissement et ne le recommanderai pas à mes proches. J'espère que vous prendrez ces commentaires en...

Pour le service de midi un cata. Arrivés à 12h30 à 6 personnes, prise de commande à 13h00 et encore parcequ on a interpellé le serveur ou le gérant. Nous avons été servis à 13h20. Réponse du serveur "bah oui mais en même temps vous arrivez tous en même temps et c'est bondé"... Alors effectivement à 6 on a tendance à arriver "tous en même temps ". Le restaurant était loin d'être bondé mais ce monsieur a l'air de vite stresser.... Mr vient d'apprendre que 12h30 est une heure de pointe en restauration. Nous aurions donc dû venir chacun à 10 minutes d'intervalle pour la prise de commande ? Une mauvaise foi incroyable pour excuser cette attente de plus de 45 minutes De plus pas du tout souriant, alors qu en tant que clients nous avons dû nous même nous lever pour chercher couverts et verre qui manquaient.... Bref, restaurateur c'est un métier... Chapeau au cuisinier les plats...
