We were looking for an easy dinner with family and stumbled upon this place. Aging mum, and 2 kids visiting from overseas after a day out doing some amusement parks and sightseeing on the Swiss side. So obviously, not fancily dressed though that should not have mattered. Nonetheless, the first server we had, with thin, short or almost bald head, was extremely rude and condescending and though initially had spoken some English when trying to express what we wanted, said he didn’t speak English, rudely saying here, we only speak french, (which is fine as I speak french and he has a right not to know nor speak English), though someone more customer oriented might have been more polite and called his Co worker who spoke English as well or responded with a different attitude, especially for a place which is supposedly on a higher end, but obviously, not polished enough. Instead, he kept insisting that it was the restaurant policy to order starters and mains at the same time. He refused to take our orders, whilst we wanted to order the starters ahead while it took the kids time to decide what they wanted for mains, apart from telling us off that in France, they could not do the meat just rosy without the blood or that in France they only did this way or that. Very haughty and different compared to our experiences in other countries like Italy where the hospitality is on a different scale! For my 10 year old niece who is extremely fussy about food, I had just wanted him to specify to the chef to ensure there was no sign of blood in the beef steaks to get her to eat some protein as there was no chicken on the menu. Was appalled as I had never experienced such terrible, argumentatively condescending service towards clients politely asking and almost walked out if it hadn’t been for another server Jean Baptiste who spoke English and made up for his colleagues’s shortfall. We still ended up spending over 200+euro and were charged for the Kid’s dessert that should have been included in the children’s menu, which I saw only later. Small amount, but just the principle of it all. Will not be recommending nor returning. Would not have left any tip at all if it weren’t for the other servers that tried to make up. However, the evening had already been tarnished by the extreme rudeness and what seemed to be a very snobby attitude from a server who seemed to “know it all” but with complete lack of clientele service and humaneness except towards the end after his replacement took over, but who had to leave earlier after finishing his shift. Wine, salad and starters were good. Mains, meat was chewy and not cooked enough for the kids. The morille sauce for the beef fillet was on the salty side. Desserts chosen weren’t so...
Read moreThis restaurant deserved a 5 star but the service of a dark skin waitress took 1 star away. We wanted her to recommend a wine to pair with our meal but she act like she doesn’t understand “steak” in a different slang. After a few attempts of explaining to her, only then she said id “steak” not “steak”. Then she wanted to give us an FREE English pronunciation class. Oh god, you are working in a restaurant that is ready to cater tourist from all around the world, are you going to act like you cant understand simple english? And as if there’s a wine that could pair with “stick”? To the owner of the business, ruining your customer’s dining experience is not part of a...
Read moreA lovely wow factor. Wasn’t expecting it to look like this. First of all great discovery, as we were walking by the street we found this cozy spot wasn’t sure if it was a tourist spot attraction but we decided to try it anyway. The decoration is modern/ antique and the menu is very inclusive. The ambiance is welcoming and suitable for families as well as couples. The quantity and quality are amazing and the desserts are made by an artist. I don’t know why I’ve never been here before. Because it instantly became a favourite to us. Make sure to make...
