I had a deeply disappointing experience at this restaurant. I made a reservation but still had to wait 12 minutes to be seated. Once inside, I noticed that all four Asian groups in the restaurant were seated at small tables, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. The larger and more attractive tables were reserved for others. While I can't say for certain whether this was racial discrimination, I leave that for others to judge.
After being seated, the waiter, who had just been in a heated argument with his colleague, came over to serve us. It was obvious he was still upset. After we finished our appetizers, he cleared our plates in a careless manner, dropping several dirty utensils onto the table and even on our feet.
When the main dish was served, the potatoes had an off-putting taste. It was so unpleasant that it made me want to spit it out immediately. We informed the waiter about the spoiled potatoes, but his response was dismissive and rude. He muttered something in French (a language we don’t understand, as we had made it clear we only speak English) and walked away without offering an apology. Although we couldn't understand his words, his tone was clearly unfriendly. He later offered to replace the dish, but by that point, both the appetizer and the main course had been terrible, and his attitude had completely ruined our appetite. We decided we didn’t want anything else and simply asked for the bill.
Since there was no progress in communication, the waiter briefly left and brought over the supervisor. The supervisor informed us that if we didn’t want to change the dish, we would still need to pay for the entire meal. We told them that was fine and simply requested dessert instead. However, we waited a long time, and no dessert was ever brought to us. We decided to ask for the bill again, but the waiter kept passing by without making eye contact.
Eventually, a female server noticed us, and we asked her for the bill and to speak to the manager. When the manager arrived, we explained our experience. As the manager didn’t speak English, a translator was brought in. The manager tried to explain that the bad taste in the potatoes was due to the sauce, but I’ve eaten enough to know the difference between spoiled food and sauce. We decided not to pursue the food issue further, but we raised the matter of the waiter’s appalling service and his rude comment in French. The manager and translator repeatedly assured us that the waiter hadn’t been aggressive toward us, despite our having witnessed his earlier argument with his colleague upon entering.
Eventually, the waiter came over to explain his behavior, claiming that his comment was directed at his colleague behind us. However, we were certain there was no one else around at that moment, and his explanation was full of contradictions. Ultimately, the waiter never apologized—not for dropping dirty utensils on us, nor for his rude comment.
While one main course and the dessert were waived from the bill, this entire experience not only wasted our precious time but also caused us to miss the fireworks show. The food was awful, the service was appalling, and the bad attitude of the waiter ruined what should have been a magical day at Disney. This is definitely a memory I will never forget. While the translator who assisted us was friendly and patient, I would strongly advise against...
Read moreMy family and I recently dined at this restaurant, and the entire experience was incredibly disappointing. There was no clear indication on any of the restaurant's platforms (website, menu, Google, or even during the ordering process) that each customer is required to order one main course. When we mentioned that we would only order two meal Plan which include 2 starters, 2 main courses and 1 dessert. the staff did not inform us of this policy. However, after we had finished ordering and the water was brought to the table, the other staff named ASLAM suddenly walked to our table and informed us that each person must order a main course . This policy was not disclosed beforehand when we were ordering with the waiter and not stated in the menu, and it was only brought up after the service had already started. Fun fact is the waiter say it is the rules that every person is compulsory to order at least a main courses , but there is no clause stated in the menu and pricing of the ala cart main course that he mention is impossible to find in the menu only the meal plan( starter + main course) pricing. This lack of transparency severely affected our consumer rights.
What made the experience even worse was the staff's poor attitude. They were cold and impatient during our interactions, showing no regard for basic customer service. There is no a single smile or politeness experience for the entire process. Had the process of informing customers be more polite we would not be feeling so bad, confused and disrespected. It is like we were being insulted and chased out of the restaurant. We can totally understand that some cafe will clearly stated that minimum spending for each customer that compulsory to having a drinks or items in menu and we will gladly accept the term. However, this is not the case in this situation. The restaurant's failure to provide clear information and respect for consumer rights left us with serious doubts about their integrity.
If the restaurant has such a policy, it should be clearly communicated at all points of contact (website, menu, and ordering process), not brought up unexpectedly once the service is already underway. We are extremely disappointed by this, and believe this behavior seriously undermines the basic rights of consumers.
Please be mindful if you are coming to this restaurant especially if you are Asians. You will be treated with bad attitude. And also ONE MAIN COURSE PER PERSON even no price of the main course and the clause stated...
Read moreBistrot Chez Rémy was everything I could have ever hoped for and more! I was unlucky my first time visiting in 2017 and knew that for this year's return I would not miss out on this dining opportunity!
For starters, SET YOUR ALARMS! The reservation window opens exactly 2 months (60 days) in advance of your visit. I recommend checking a few days before this window because sometimes they'll open it a bit early. If you’re going on a weekend, I would recommend setting your clock for midnight in CET because that's how fast reservations can be booked. Don't be one of those sad visitors who gets turned away when you visit... you have to reserve in advance!
For this meal, we ordered the Menu Émile for 55€ with the additional vins compris for a total cost of 75€. We chose to do the add-on because it was a better value than purchasing 1 bottle of wine and we wanted to try the special wines.
APPETIZERS: Soupe de saison - 9.5/10, whatever it was, it was absolutely delicious! Salade mélangée - 3/10, possibly a higher score if you love bleu cheese. We do not. AOP Côtes de Provence - 8/10, great rosé to start the day
MAINS: Pièce de bœuf grillée & frites - 9/10, you can cook the meat to your choice and it also comes with your choice of sauce, fries, and a side of ratatouille Cabillaud roti & écrasées de PDT & ratatouille - 9/10, fish was delightful along with the seasoned mashed potatoes, but the ratatouille fell flat for me AOC Saint Emilion - Édition Bistrot Chez Rémy - 9.5/10, perfect accompaniment to the steak
DESSERTS: Mousse au chocolat - 10/10 - absolutely delightful with a nice gauffre, very decadent Entremet fromage blanc-framboise - 9/10, I got this because it's a cheese cake (get it!?) and it was delicious. The raspberry flavor was a delightful touch Édition Speciale Disneyland Paris - 8/10, standard champagne but a great way to end the meal
Overall, we loved our experience and would certainly recommend stopping by if you can make reservations. Like everywhere else in Europe, expect way slower service than you’re used to in America, but I assure you it is worth the wait. The decor is so cute and they do have different menus based on your preferred...
