Classic example of designers getting carried away with a theme and forgetting the core product, in this case, the food.
Starters were good, nice and fresh with plenty to choose from, unfortunately they were also the highlight.
You get a 'giant' pretzel for the table, it's the same size as the pretzels sold at the gourmand stalls just outside of the campus. This is just the start of the bread/carb heavy menu (is it too cynical to suggest this is done to fill guests up so they don't eat much?).
Not many mains too choose from. The much vaunted giant burgers, hotdogs & pretzels (carbs, carbs and more carbs) were all cold and fell apart as soon as they hit the plate. The mini versions (mini carbs) wouldn't look out of place at a kid's birthday party.
Other mains were a couple of lukewarm and unappealing looking vegan options, a jambalaya which was full of bare bones, an OK chili, a stone cold vegetable bake, some quite nice but fatty BBQ pork, corn dogs & spring rolls with a Mexican filling both of which were far too greasy and sickly.
Disneys version of KFCs Hot Wings however were delicious and the best thing on the mains by an absolute distance.
Desserts were disappointing, when the highlight is a small pot of blue jelly with a raspberry in it you know you're in trouble.
The other offerings were either heavy and dry cakes or desserts which can be found at other cheaper (and better) buffets. Special mention for the giant Oreo cookie which tasted of prescisely nothing.
Staff were friendly enough but I got the feeling the jug (or beaker due to the theme) of tap water I asked for was only provided reluctantly. Something every other restaurant provides happily.
Some swift changes are going to be needed if this place is to merit it's place as a premium eatery. As it is, it's the most expensive buffet but a very great distance from being the best.
Oh, take the carpet out too, it was continually being swept for dropped food and drink during our visit and is...
Read moreThis has got to be the worst Restaurant at Disneyland Paris. My son is a huge Marvel fan so we went to this restaurant twice. We come to Disneyland Paris at least once a year but had never been to Pym before this visit. I don’t believe I have ever experienced worse service at any restaurant in my entire life. The first time I just thought we had a bad server. But twice??? Both times we had a reservation. So far, so good. You get seated fairly quickly. Placemats are for coloring but no crayons or pencils are provided. Not even after asking for some. You’re supposed to wait for your server to take your drink order before you can access the buffet. First time we sat for 20 minutes while many servers walked past us but no one would look at us. Finally, a server came to take our drink order. Second time same thing. After thirty minutes of waiting and watching at least six servers walk back and forth, we decided to just get up and get some food from the buffet. That seemed to get their attention and a server took our drink order. Forget it, though, if you’d like more to drink after that one drink. You won’t be asked if you’d like anything else. The food is OK. Some of it is really good, some totally flavorless. The deserts are mostly awful. Most taste like cardboard. Also, the entire restaurant has a weird smell. Like sour milk in the carpets or something? I can’t quite place it. Some of the food is worth it, though. The green beans are fantastic. The vegetable crumble is extremely good. My son enjoys their corn dogs. Anyway, after experiencing terrible service twice in a row, we will not be returning again. We left thirsty and pissed off for spending a lot of money on an experience that lacked anything you’d normally expect from Disney. If this were the only restaurant at the park, I’d leave and eat elsewhere. Hope you have a better experience...
Read moreReally fun experience, definitely one for the novelty "fancy" dinner but not a go-to lunch spot for more than once on a trip. One of very few places in Disneyland Paris that's given thought to those with allergies, I don't eat dairy so was worried what options would be available to me as most places had 1 vegan option if that, and not being vegan I didn't want to limit myself unnecessarily. Being a buffet my fear was spending a lot of money for only 1 or 2 options for my "all you can eat." But this wasn't the case. At PYM we were asked about allergies straight away and I was given a tour by a very helpful staff member who took me around the buffet to show me what things I could have, he was battling a hefty booklet with all of the foods listed in the wrong order and a language barrier and he did a fantastic job. The DF desert options were only jelly and oreos, but for everything else there were plenty of choices, including several fully vegan and lots of meat/fish dishes prepared without dairy. The staff behind the prep station also made me my own versions of the mini burger so I could experience that sans dairy. It took a long time and I can't help but think it would be far easier to simply list the present allergens on all of the food labels or online so the customers can sort themselves out, but everyone was so friendly and it was delicious so it was worth it. Best place for food intolerances in Disneyland Paris by far! We also managed to get a table without a reservation because we were only 2 and it was a rainy weekday, but we were sat in a quite a closed off corner away from the action and theming. Definitely books up very far in advance like the website suggests! Main negative aside from cost was that all of the drinks tasted very watered down, both...
