Came here for dinner based on the top ratings here, and it was the perfect choice - my best meal in Toulouse and definitely one of the best that I have had ever. Especially if you consider the price/quality.
We opted for the Chef's menu, which initially comprises of 5 sharing starters + fish main + meat main + dessert cheese platter + dessert. (only for 34€ each!!!) Chef is however flexible to cater for dietary preferences (Je ne mange pas la viande), and gave me two other starters (so in total we had 7! - 3 for sharing then 2 for each of us .. apparently my friend thus had 7 starters to taste :))
Food combinations and seasonings were done just right ... we loved every single dish. The chef pays well attention to details ... including the bread .. the sides .. and all! We were actually quite full after finishing the starters but since the dishes were so flavoursome, we didn't have one moment wanting to stop eating tbh! Satisfyingly full .. and not stuffing at all :)
The restaurant also has a pretty extensive wine menu for pairing. Highly highly recommend! We were the first table in and last table out ... enjoying the food and wine so much! :-) thank you chef and all staff for this incredible gastronomic experience.
Worthwhile to mention the servers were particularly helpful with us the beginner's french speakers ... explaining every dish in details...
Read moreI went here based on the reviews and did the chef’s tasting menu (which I highly recommend). 5 starters, a fish and meat main course, followed by two desserts. It’s the way to go.
Some dishes were mind blowing, others didn’t fit me so well - but overall, it was an excellent range of flavors and a fantastic culinary experience. The chef is indeed highly skilled.
What I especially liked: the zucchini and cucumber soup, monkfish, and especially the main course meat dish. The pork belly was quite possibly the best I’ve ever had, and the Basque sausage was incredible. As other reviews point out, the lamb shoulder is also delicious. Also, the house-made pâté was on point. Even the bread was great.
I had plenty of tastes I’ve never had, and the service was great. Also, I watched as the servers walked English speakers through the menu, which is always a...
Read moreFood: Tasty and reasonably priced. I had “menu du soir”, which allows you to choose 1 entree, 1 main dish, 1 side dish to be served with the main dish, and 1 dessert for 25 euros. My partner did the same. For the main dish, the lamb dish and the Toulouse sausage dish were good. (lamb might be greasy but it tasted amazing just by removing excessive fatty parts.) For side dish, I think gratin is best choice.
Service: Staffs can speak English. They were paying attention and came over to our table right away when I turned my head to look inside from my outside table.
Atmosphere: Located on a small path surrounded by pink-brick buildings, this restaurant is calm, not crowded, and nice to have...
