This place is not recommended! Let me explain why. We went out for dinner here but were left very unsatisfied… There is this waiter/runner here, a slim tattood guy with mustache, who is simply arrogant and cold as ice. There is no hospitality or smile on his face to be found… I understand that hospitality can be stressful, but come on, it is your job to be helpful. If you can’t handle it; at least try.
About the food. We received our chicken tenders which were as cold as that waiter’s attitude, so we sent them back. You know, these things can happen. But what annoyed us was that we mentioned it to that waiter, and without even saying a word (or apology), he grabbed it from our table and took off. Then when we received the chicken tenders for the second time, and he handed them over to us stretching his hand over another person’s table. What the heck? Unbelievable! I apologized to the other guests for this, and they were also surprised by his behavior. Later, it happened again with a bottle of water. Just.. seriously, where is the hospitality from this guy? After receiving the chicken tenders again, which were clearly just reheated because we spotted the pieces where we took a bite from, they tasted okay.
I ordered the salmon fillet, which actually was great. I did enjoy it. However, my girlfriend ordered the burger and found that the meat was too raw from the inside and too well cooked from the outside. We didn’t bother sending it back again.
It also took ages before we were given the bill to pay… I signed to that waiter a couple times and I know he noticed it because he nodded to me every time. But then he proceeded in doing something completely different. I understand the pressure and I don’t mind waiting a bit, but this was just absurdly long.
I must say that all other waiters were very nice and helpful.
So, please go here if you would like a disgraceful experience with that particular waiter. Otherwise, I would avoid this place.
Funnily enough, the bill was €66,6. So, maybe this place is cursed by the devil. I’m kidding, but seriously, get...
Read moreAfter a long journey to arrive in Toulouse late in the evening, I was hungry and wanted a beer to wash off the road dust. I walked to the Place St. Georges and sat in the beautiful plaza to order: a pint of Kronenbourg, poireaux vinaigrette, and roast chicken leg with glass of wine.
The beer arrived with the leek salad. It would have been nice if I could enjoy the beer as an apéro first, so I did before enjoying the poireaux. It was good, though nothing special. By the time I had finished, a good 40 minutes passed. I waited patiently, still no roast chicken. Finally I had to get up and remind them, then the dish arrived scary fast.
OK, it was good, not great but satisfying. I noticed there were only two other groups eating: a large banquet on one side, and four friends out for a late meal. There seemed to be a small army of servers, but I was left sitting with my plate of cold chicken bones for 20 minutes while sipping the last of the wine, which was served too warm by the way.
So I had to get up and demand to pay. Since there were two servers at my table, I presume each one thought the other had taken care of me. They finally got one of them and graciously allowed me to pay l'addition.
Bottom line: Food OK, service unprofessional. There is no reason to go to M. Georges when the restaurants across the place were full of the laughter of happy diners being served by...
Read moreThe decoration is quite nice, with an industrial touch, over 3 floors and overlooking the Place St Georges. The menu is really attractive and is precisely what made us choose the place. But after a nice greeting from a young lady at the entrance, all the rest, food and service, ranged from average to bad. First, the place was cold, we kept our coats on. Then the service, from a tattooed guy with a moustache. Like, seriously, if you hate serving so much, why don’t you do something else? Zero attention to details, not looking at you while speaking, talking to you from the other side of the room after a question instead of coming next to the table…all wrong. And then the food….pumpkin soup was bland, « os a moelle » was nearly nearly disgusting, and the Toulouse sausage with truffle purée was okayish but dry. All that for 80€ with only two glasses of wine, what a joke. One of those completely overrated places that benefit from such a good location that they can produce an appalling experience with no...
