On the suggestion of my Indian friend, I decided to visit Rajasthan restaurant for the first time. Having visited other Indian restaurants before, I had certain expectations. The atmosphere and design of the place were quite impressive and captivating. The beautiful Asian tiles and intriguing paintings made me feel like I had traveled to India!
Upon arrival, we were promptly seated at our reserved table for three. However, I was immediately disappointed to see that the table was covered with large tissues instead of a tablecloth. While it may not seem like a big issue, it was a little off-putting.
Nevertheless, my disappointment was quickly forgotten when we were served a delicious welcome drink, which is only offered for free to those with a reservation.
The main challenge I faced was navigating the complex menu, as I struggled to choose the right dishes. Thankfully, my Indian friend helped me make my selections, as I had faced similar issues in other Indian restaurants.
For my entrée, I ordered the Shami Kebab, but unfortunately, it was not to my liking, despite being garnished with lettuce. Observing my reaction, my friend ordered another entrée of chicken and onions, which was truly delicious!
As for the main course, I opted for the Masala Curry with beef, chicken butter, and lamb, which came with cheese naan and rice. The cheese naan was simply amazing and I highly recommend it. The beef curry and chicken butter were both really good, with the latter having a unique sweet taste like honey, and you could feel the butter melting in your mouth. However, the lamb was tough and difficult to chew. Overall, though, I really enjoyed my meal and found it to be satisfying.
While Rajasthan restaurant may not be the best Indian restaurant I have ever visited, it is certainly a wonderful place to try new and exciting foods...
Read moreI have never had such bad quality food in my 50 years of life. This is my new lowest bar set for food. BTW I am not at all fussy about the food and if the food was edible and place was hygienic I won't bother to give negative review ever! We visited this place on Sunday 18 August 2024 the restaurant décor was okay. Reception was below average. As a starter we ordered chicken tikka - which looked (brown) like lamb. When we tired to cut it with knife we struggled! Then my husband attempted to eat it and it was so overcooked and stringy that he spitted it out as he could not chew ( we as Indian's have been taught to respect food so we won't spit out anything that is edible). The meat in the samosa was off! The veg samosa and onion bhaji was way below average but not off! The wine was okay as it was not made my them. I am glad we ordered vegetarian mains as meat was a disaster. The yellow dal was not yellow but red. They had added Achari masala in it so it was hot and sour like bad Indian pickle. The rice was super low quality. The naan was undercooked. The Paneer Tikka was not really Tikka masala. Any person who has ever had Rajastani food would not call this place Rajastan Villa. It is disgrace to this cuisine as they are one of the finest Indian cuisine. I would have loved to give minus stars to this place but unfortunately one star is the lowest I can on this system. I wonder if people giving good review to this place ever had good quality Indian food in their...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to dining at Rajasthan Villa. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff gave us a very warm welcome. As a kind gesture, we received two complimentary cocktails, which added to the pleasant atmosphere.
The Tandoori chicken leg was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The marinated chicken was also tender and delicious. However, the lamb in both the Dopiaza and the Rogan Josh was quite tough, which made the dishes less enjoyable. The naan bread was also slightly undercooked.
While the ambiance and service were excellent, the food did not fully meet our expectations, especially given the higher price level.
Rajasthan Villa offers a beautiful setting and friendly service. Some dishes were truly enjoyable, but the quality of the lamb dishes needs improvement to match the rest of...
