The Pyrenean — Restaurant in Toulouse

Went here on rave reviews and what a total disappointment. Ended up walking out. The starters came and they were over cooked and poor quality. The frog legs were as though the frogs had been sitting in warm water before they were cooked. The quality of the food was bad so we sent them back. I was hesitant to get the mains but we carried on as Greg manager assured us they would be great. My cassoulet arrived and my friends magres. I took my first bite and the sausage in my cassoulet was cold. I asked my friend to try and he also got a cold bite. His duck breast was not even cooked. Legit raw. This place was a family favourite for 10 years as my brother in law lived around the corner. What a complete let down. We ended up getting up and leaving. The manager said you don’t like the quality go eat elsewhere. The restaurant is apparently under new owners and riding the coat tails of the old owners revues. Do not go here. It is a good place for dinner, but not for tourist. I checked their menu and photos before come and I liked everything, price, meals, reviews...but its was different when I come. The recommended meal was served only to me, all other guests ate something else. It was usual steak, nothing special. For that meal you don't come back. But I came, to try other meals. don't like to write a book here, I ate 3 evenings, in order. Each time I got a meal which was different from any other. Not as tasty as it looks and doesn't look as it is on the photos. Last my visit I got duk breast with goose liver, I saw that meal on pics and it was amazing. But mine wasn't, as well it was very hard to eat. Another guest seat near me and asks what is my meal, but he was French and was difficult to talk, but he understood the name of the meal. He got that meal, I was crying, as he got that beautiful meal I saw on...

I cannot rate this place highly enough, it's one of those occasions where you need 6 stars to emphasize just how good this place was. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service was quick and friendly, the food was just amazing, and all reasonably priced. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. The menu choice was excellent and the fish we had tasted really fresh, as if it was caught that morning. This is a real gem of a restaurant and I strongly advise anyone visiting Toulouse to give it a try. If I was to go again the only consideration would be whether to take a child. We took our 3 Year old in, she loved it but there wasn't an infant menu that I saw, so you may need to be creative with the choice on the menu, or just give them some of...
