Lezzet — Restaurant in Troyes

A genuinely surprising find - after a long drive from the UK were after some wholesome food and by chance, stumbled upon Lezzet totally by chance because most of the other eateries looked super-busy.

Very authentic and obviously the choice for local Turkish people to come and eat - there were families and groups inside and we were welcomed from the minute we walked through the door. Service was great and the waitress helped us understand the menu, as we're not au fair with Turkish food.

It was astounding; easy, fresh, colourful and varied. Main courses were just fantastic, breads were fluffy and light. We also had a kind of rice pudding/creme brûlée that I could have eaten mountains of, it was amazing! The tea was also great.

L'accueil chaleureux des serveuses, toujours souriantes, a agréablement marqué mon expérience. La décoration élégante et la propreté du lieu ont également retenu mon attention. Les lahmacuns étaient un vrai délice, tout comme la grillade de poulet, tendre et bien grillée. Cependant, le pide sucuk manquait de saveur, notamment au niveau du fromage et du sucuk. J’ai tout de même apprécié cette cuisine familiale.

Seulement, un point négatif a été que nous sommes arrivés vers 21h50, avec l'annonce inattendue de la fermeture du service alors que le restaurant ferme à 22h30. Cela m'a semblé précipité, d'autant plus qu'il n'y avait pas énormément de clients. Malgré cela, je peux comprendre qu’il faut assurer la fermeture du service avant pour fermer à l’heure mais cela a été désagréable. Ce qui m'a également déplu, c'est le montant à la caisse qui a été arrondi sans demande préalable. Ce n’est pas le fait de donner + qui me dérange mais c’est l’absence d’honnêteté. Si les clients veulent donner +, c’est à eux de proposer et non à vous. Si cela a été fait avec autant s’assurance, c’est qu’il a été plusieurs fois. Pourtant, j’avais bien demandé si elle était sûr du montant. Même un petit « désolé » à la fin aurait été appréciable.
