Chez Georges — Restaurant in Versailles

Not open despite saying they are open on google maps and taking reservations on their site. They replied to my comment in French to sarcastically thank me for my 1 star review and to say that I could have noticed that they are on holiday through the note they left next to their restaurant. But then a few minutes later, they realized their error and updated google map to show their restaurant as "temporarily closed". Glad my 1 star review woke someone up there to fix their hours. I have no issue with the place, but I don't appreciate sarcastic replies and then secretly fixing their mistake. Too bad as I was excited to try their food as other reviews mentioned...

Rather mediocre experience here. Maybe the chef had a bad day.

Chez Georges took over from the owners of Chez Stef's around mid 2022. Going back to the pictures posted here prior that time, you can clearly see the differences in the plate presentation.

The Salade César aux gambas grillés. Unfortunately, the shrimps were a bit mushy. Edible but mushy. No food poisoning as of this review. Salad itself is nothing special.

Highly recommend ! I found this gem thanks to the review of another traveler.. After Versailles, my friends and I took the brief walk to Chez Stef’s. Upon entering, it’s cozy, calming, and the smells were intoxicating! I had the sea bream and it was absolutely divine! The flavors complimented each other so well, I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or kiss the chef! Had an amazing pistachio & fruit dessert.
