We ordered ginseng chicken soup and bulgogi. (Ginseng chicken soup is a whole chicken stuffed with rice, garlic, red dates, etc. boiled slowly with Korean ginseng herbs.) After a short wait, our food were served. My long missed ginseng chicken soup's, the soup itself tasted heavenly despite the chicken is slightly overcooked. The bulgogi is way too salty even eating with rice. As we tuck in our dinner, trying to get to the stuffing from the bottom part of the chicken, we noted that rice, red date uncovered from the bottom part of the chicken is not cooked and not eatable. We have to return the dish to cook more. While waiting we have no choice but to finish the bulgogi between ourselves. They returned our uncooked dish after we finished everything we have and waited for awhile. This time the soup have reduced further and become quite salty and the chicken looks completely dried out. Hubby has his first bite and said rice is still raw. We dig a little bit deeper to check visually the rice inside the chicken is still pretty much white (raw) and the whole garlic that we uncovered looks as raw as it can be. The dish has turned from bad to horrible as how it appears and tastes. We tasted everything one more time just to make sure before we call someone. We have had no choice but to return our dish once again. It has been a long wait no sign of getting our last dish delivered. The shop did nothing despite us sitting there still feeling hungry and not knowing when we will complete our dinner... Honestly this is the worst Korean restaurant we have ever eaten in. They always have fantastic hospitality and proud of their food. We don't feel and see a bit of it in this restaurant. For the price they are charging, seriously, please avoid at all means! Quick update: The restaurant have not charged us that problematic dish we ordered. I appreciate their kind gesture at the end. Unfortunately our dinner have been ruined. After waited patiently it was the same overcooked chicken and overly salty soup that we have been served and most of all the rice inside the chicken still not cooked properly. This is still the worst tasted Korean restaurant that I have...
Read moreWe reserved a table for 7 for a birthday lunch. The reservation was easy to do online, but required re-confirmation (take note!). We had a beautiful room upstairs with a warm, spacious table. The windows were open and the greenery of the plants felt tropical and welcoming.
The service was excellent. We had two waiters attending to us. They were both very efficient, professional, and friendly. This is not an easy job, People!!! I felt happy for them that there is a food elevator because, honestly, carrying plates of food upstairs is ruthless (like happens in Paris a LOT).
Since it was a special occasion, we ordered entrees, soju, drinks, main courses, and dessert. Lots of authentic Korean drinks on the menu! They presented the birthday dessert with an awesome sparkling candle!! It made the occasion so special!!
For the food, I love spicy and the gochujang was perfect! However, be careful if the person ordering is not used to spicy dishes, it might be too strong. The beef bibimbap that I ordered had the most succulent beef, fresh vegetables, and rice (a little more rice please!). Everyone at the table was satisfied with the tastiness of of their dishes.
The ice cream dessert is something very unique and was the first time I tried it. I loved it! Next time, I'll try a fruity flavor.
We will be back! Thank you for making our...
Read moreThe food was honestly disappointing for the price, it was greasy and what you'd expect if you try to cook Korean yourself at home as a none Korean, or from a cheap food truck. The wait was long for the food and between the courses, in their defence the place was full and its two floors with many tables, so maybe they need more staff to keep up. However, the place is nice, big, spacious, with effort to the decoration which is refreshing for Versailles where a lot of the restaurants decore verges on the old and stuffy. So I think the high price paid was mostly to cover the rent and decore. I stuck to their tea for drinks which wasnt bad, but their cocktails looked interesting and enticing.
I would really like to come here again as the aeathetic is very fresh and clean and modern, if they can improve on their food quality it...
