We spend a few months in Versailles every year, and always come here to Juliette.
I always try to rate my restaurant experiences by four categories; Service, Ambience, Quality, and Value. So here is my non-professional review:
SERVICE: We come a few times a week, at various days and times. Every single time we have experienced a wonderful welcome. The vibe is energetic and happy and the employees always have a smile and a greeting for you. In fact, I was surprised that the second year we arrived, after being gone several months, the staff remembered us! What a nice and welcoming surprise!
AMBIENCE: A beautiful and classic French Café set in a pretty and lively square. The restaurant is clean and and well designed for a small space. The bathroom is always clean! The comestibles are beautifully displayed and an artistic delight for the eye while having a coffee, pastry, or quick lunch. I love the classic café dishware that gives you the “I’m living like the locals!” experience.
QUALITY: Truly, everything we have tried has been delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The pastries are perfectly baked with the exact flavors they require, and are visually appetizing. The bakers are obviously excellent at producing eye-catching and delicious food. The bread is fresh and the sandwich ingredients are high quality and flavorful, with fun flavor variations. The coffee is excellent, and that includes the decaffeinated coffee! It can be difficult to find decaf that is not bitter, but Juliette has made sure that even their decaf is dark, rich and flavorful. To me, that’s the sign of a business that understands the importance of details.
VALUE: Even comparing the prices of Juliette to more expensive café’s, we found them to be better, especially for the quality! For example, there are more expensive café’s nearby, but I feel that they spent too much money on ‘pomp and circumstance’ (ie, fancy furnishings and crockery), and the quality was not always commensurate with their higher prices. That’s why Juliette shines in this category. Not only do they have the lovely ambience, pleasing decor, and welcoming employees, their quality is outstanding for the price.
In conclusion, don’t miss this fantastic café for a bite to eat, an espresso, or a delicious and beautiful pastry, all with a welcoming smile. I deeply thank all the employees for my wonderful experiences and the wonderful food and drink. I look forward to...
Read moreSurrounding area is lovely we walked around Versailles and came across this lovely cafe. It was a bit chilly for me so decided to have breakfast indoors. A ♿challenge while at Paris since most cafes are tiny🤭 but there was something about this one that attracted us to go in. My husband has reduced mobility ♿ so ofcourse I always go in first to find seating and make sure we can wheel in or assist him with getting to a table and seat (we either fold manual wheelchair and put it aside or leave at entrance he can still walk only with assistance).
It took us a bit like always to get in i I have to usually hold door open while my brother assists my husband walking in. (But ofcourse not everyone understands the process of assisting someone with reduced mobility, upon entering those who were sitting on entry door asked me to keep it closed since cold air was coming in this was just a matter of minutes I politely pointed to my husband outside letting them know that he was on his way in, in my opinion they were rude which almost spoiled our visit).
Once we settled in it did feel like we caused to much commotion with our ♿ arrival. But once greeted by which seems to be the owner we felt comfortable. Very friendly, and attentive cafe is lovely pastries delicious wish it had been warmer for us to have been able to just be at outdoor seating. Oh and bathroom was accessible! We enjoyed our hot chocolate and pastry. Thank...
Read moreHad an apple strudel type of pastry, capucchino, and quiche (ham and eggs). I absolutely loved this place. We were originally going to go to A La Cote Bretonne but they were still closed when we arrived. We just walked down the block and found this place. The staff was very friendly, she spoke a little English, and the décor was contemporary. Lots of locals came to this place and even grandma’s with their little dogs. The apple strudel” pastry was fresh, not overly sweet, and the dough flaked off nicely (like a croissant). The capucchino was excellent as well and not overpriced. The quiche was good, but the egg was too solidified in my opinion. It should have been a little runnier and there was nothing special to the ham they chose to use. I would definitely recommend this place. A hidden...
