Long Story — Restaurant in Versailles

Went there with high expectations since the reviews were pretty good, but oh no, was I wrong. We went for brunch, so obviously we opted for the formule. We had to ask twice for serviettes, which is not ok at all since they should have been brought to us even before we got our food. Secondly, after the first course, they tell us there are no more pancakes.. So their menu is quite limited, and the pancakes are honestly the only good desert, so they told us to choose another option, and that was some 2€ cookies (pancakes cost around 10€) so, obviously the formule was no longer an option.

We ended up leaving after just a slice of avocado toast (not to mention the very small amount of avicado on that toast for 15€ each) and a few drinks. Also, my friends had to ask several times for new rounds of drinks. Do we have to insist?

I do have to mention the kind gesture of fixing one of my friends a cognac, my 1 star goes to that.

So I left the restaurant with quite a big bill, and...

-1 star for the cold food, -1 star for service, -1 for the wait.

I came for the brunch special with a friend. I ordered the eggs Benedict, juice, pancakes, and latte. We didn’t get our coffee until 1.5 hours after we were seated. The table behind us arrived 30 minutes after us and were served their meals before us. When our food did arrive everything was cold, I didn’t want to ask for them to heat it up since it took over an hour to get everything as is. We asked for our coffee about 4 times, and in the end we got it after 1.5 hours!!! It is very cute food and I think it could have tasted good if warm. Additionally, my friend got the salmon and it was FULL of bones, so she sat there for about 10 min pulling all of them out.

I really liked the place at first. The coffee (allongé) wasn’t great tbh but the vibe was nice. There was only one other person upstairs (lots of tables) and I was getting some work done and while my students were touring Versailles.

After an hour, I was approached and told I had to put my computer away and coulsnt work on the weekends. I do understand the policy generally, if someone was spending 8hrs - but I had been there for about an hour and the place was totally empty and it was rainy outside. I did plan to order lunch just wanted to finish a couple of things first.

Du coup j’aimais bien l’endroit mais même pour boire un verre ou manger avec des amis j’y retournerais pas. En tout cas je viens pas souvent à Versailles. Sinon,...
