Hello Fu 1088

AW HELL NAH!!

I aint grubb on nun dis nasty in a while dawg! I asked the staff what they recommended and it was hairy crab with shark fin. I figured i should try it even though its against my morals. The wait was long but when the food came, I wish it hadn’t😭😭😭 The shark was like a slimy, stringy and tasteless blobb. Surrounded by what could have been a beautiful crab. But instead, torn to pieces and wasted. Also basically tasteless. But the consistency made it so unpleasant. I wanted to like it so bad but it was just nasty. I also had some dumplings. They where fine but the ones you get in a basic little tavern are better, tastier and more worth it price wise.

The service was nice and apologized.

The premises are amazing, and wonderfully decorated. Such a shame that the food quality spoiled it. Im sure there are things on the menu that are better. Good...

Prices are expensive, but food tastes great, so is the service. A beautiful tiled entrance, wood panelling and striking light fittings are just some of the original features of this 1920s townhouse. Its 16 traditionally furnished private rooms evoke old Shanghai charm. The food is equally sophisticated: river shrimp are made to order; the smoked mackerel belly dressed in a mildly sweet glaze is crisp but juicy. This place was awesome to go to, but I couldn't help shaking the feeling that I still had no idea what I was really appreciating. Imagine if you bring someone from another culture to one of those restaurants in New York with some $1000 burger. Would they full understand what they are ingesting? I wouldn't even fully comprehend that. Yet here I was, in the very exclusive restaurant and the people we were with tried to explain and point out all the ways the chef shows off their skills. i m not sure if it is this one cos in chinese the name is fu1039. It looks like it anyway so now i go. Great exclusive ambience of the colonial house, service is not top stars though look and feel really five stars. The Shanghainese food with a more sophisticated presentation, taste like a real shanghai food too. Neat, Michelin quality presentation - no wonder it s recommended. I was treated by a good friend so didn’t know how much, but surely it is not cheap. A very Wonderful experience indeed.

Set in a charming old colonial house, this spot feels special with private dining rooms that are perfect for an intimate lunch or dinner with friends or family. The food was clean, well-prepared, and nicely presented. I’m not usually into Shanghainese food, but this place made me enjoy it—and it’s a good spot to visit if you’re looking for an introduction to Shanghainese cuisine. Service really stood out too: friendly and attentive without being over the top. Definitely worth trying out.

wow. A Shanghai-nese friend of mine got his mom to book us this place when we went to SH. The food was mind blowing! I’m not a fan of seafood but their fish was simply divine. Just look at my videos. If you come to Shanghai, I hope you get the luck to get a reservation for this restaurant! I swear you would not regret it.

While their dishes may not look very special, the taste was amazing with flavors you don't normally experience. The restaurant is housed in an old mansion so it has the normal signs of wear and tear. Service was good except we could hear the waitstaff chattering away outside while in our private dining room.
