Coffee LAB | Chavchavadze Ave — Restaurant in Tbilisi

I used to love Coffee Lab - it was my go-to spot, a place I visited almost every day and even brought friends to. Sadly, it has completely fallen apart.

The last few times I’ve been there: We waited over 15 minutes just to get any kind of attention from a waiter, and eventually just left. Food sometimes takes up to an hour to arrive. Once, my coffee was served in an unwashed cup that reeked of dish soap. They didn’t remake it, didn’t offer any compensation - just made me pay for it. I ordered hot chocolate, and their old plastic cup literally started crumbling into the drink. Like it was made of chocolate itself. Once again - not even apologized.

And I won’t even get into how the portions have been shrinking year after year.

I visited coffee Lab Chavchavadze recently, hoping to enjoy a coffee and relax for a bit. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing due to the atmosphere and table availability.

The café was packed with people working on laptops, occupying almost every table. Many tables were left “reserved” with coats or bags, even though no one was actively using them. This made it impossible for other customers to find seating, especially those who just wanted to enjoy a quick coffee.

While I understand that coffee shops are popular spots for remote work, it felt more like a co-working space than a welcoming coffeehouse. There didn’t appear to be any policies in place to manage this, such as laptop-free zones or designated times...

I love this place for it's coffee. It's really good.

It's quite crowdy and noisy though, they allow to work remotely from here, so there is always many people here with laptops.

I would give them 5* BUT there are some issues: Last week their WC is closed, they haven't repaired it yet. There is only sink where you can wash hands Baristas are definitely professional but... one of them once blew on the espresso machine's horn to blow away the coffee dust😱🙈🙈 I'm not squeamish, but please don't do that😃 Once I accidentally dropped a menu and said sorry...
