Nestled in the vibrant district of Charlottenburg, Berlin, 963 offers a culinary experience that is nothing short of extraordinary. As someone who relishes the exploration of diverse cuisines, I was thrilled to discover this gem that masterfully blends traditional Levantine flavors with contemporary culinary techniques.
From the moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The modern yet cozy décor, accented with Middle Eastern art and soft lighting, creates an inviting atmosphere that is both chic and comfortable. The attentive and knowledgeable staff warmly welcome you, ensuring you feel right at home.
The menu at 963 is a testament to the rich culinary heritage of the Levant, featuring a tantalizing array of dishes that cater to both adventurous palates and those seeking comfort in familiar flavors. Each dish is a work of art, meticulously plated and bursting with freshness. It's casual dining, but both delicious and chic too!
We skipped the selection of mezze
For the main course, I opted for the chicken skewers which was seasoned to perfection and cooked to a succulent tenderness, marinated in a blend of aromatic spices and grilled to perfection. My dining companion chose the same. We both savoured the garlic sauce that came with it and the potatoes. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that transported us straight to the heart of the Levant.
The dessert menu did not disappoint either. We indulged in the vegan bar and kanufa (hubby is lactose intolerant), which was layered with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of rosewater.
What truly sets 963 apart is their dedication to using high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients, and their innovative approach to presenting traditional dishes. The result is a dining experience that is both authentic and refreshingly modern.
In addition to the exquisite food, the service at 963 is impeccable. The staff are genuinely passionate about the cuisine they serve and are more than happy to provide recommendations and share the stories behind the dishes.
Whether youâre a local or a visitor to Berlin, 963 is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to embark on a culinary journey through the Levant. Itâs a place where tradition meets innovation, and where every meal is a celebration of flavors. Highly...
Read moreI warmly recommend this place.
First time I came here with my partner and we loved it. The service is great and attentive, and the food is just amazing and most importantly authentic. While Berlin has no lack of Arabic fast food places, here you can try a mix of unique creations and traditional dishes that are usually cooked at home. In this setup I believe this is really a unique restaurant in Berlin, and I think the reviews speak for themselves.
After the great first experience I came back here with a group of like 15 people and made a reservation upfront. The owner is incredibly welcoming and service oriented. He helped me put together an amazing menu for the evening and went above and beyond to make sure everything is exactly as weâd expect it to be.
There were some special requests about allergies, which were handled superbly. A few people had to leave earlier so the pre-ordered menu would have been way too big. Even though they must have made some preparations, adjusting the menu on the spot was no issue at all! I wouldnât point this out, but making group reservations can be a fuss at some restaurants in Berlin and this was just so relieving to be 100% sure that if you come here youâll be guaranteed to have a nice experience and will leave with a smile.
Apart from that, I can only repeat that the food is simply superb. We tried pretty much the whole menu and everything was super high quality, nicely presented, and just tasted right. Everyone loved it. And with that I mean that from 15 people everyone liked every single dish on the table.
All in all, we really loved this place, and will come...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant as a group of five, and our impressions were mixed. On the positive side, the location is convenient, not far from Kuâdamm, and the atmosphere is quite cozy. However, when it comes to the concept and the food, there is room for improvement. We ordered the set menu at âŹ42 per person, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The flavors were unbalanced, lacking texture and depth, yet overly greasy. As for the mains, the meat was decent, but the kebab had a strong, unpleasant lamb odor, which made it rather unappetizing. It would be great to see more attention given to ingredient quality and flavor harmony. As for desserts, we were intrigued by the âCandy Bar,â which is described as their signature creation, said to predate the popular Dubai chocolate. However, it barely resembles it. While the idea is promising, the execution fell a little flat - the flavors were quite mild, and the texture could be more interesting. And of course the quality of chocolate could be improved also.
Service could also be improved. Stuff is unfriendly. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, it took a long time to get the attention of the waitstaff, and there were mix-ups with the orders. When we wanted to order dessert, we had to wait quite a while, and at the end of the meal, we noticed an extra cup of tea on the bill. Overall, while the setting was pleasant, the dining experience didnât quite meet expectations. With some refinements to the food and service, this place has potential, but for now, weâre unsure if we would return in the...
