Today for the first time in the restaurant Ach Niko Ach in Berlin.
Online appointment made for 19:00 and we were there on time, but upon arrival we were immediately accused of being late, according to the waiter we should have been there at 18:30, very unpleasant first encounter. The whole evening we were just stared at by the staff, there was no friendliness.
Also the food was more or less thrown on the table, a "bon appetit" was not possible. By the way, we also noticed that the staff at the other tables was not very friendly and nice and not attentive at all (the table next to us needed about half an hour before they could order something to drink), unless you knew them, then they were suddenly very friendly. In short, the staff could use a lesson in "how to be friendly to customers".
As for the food, we were very satisfied: very tasty and good portions, so it's not the kitchen's fault.
Conclusion: the food here is good, and if you like unfriendly service, this is the place to be... :-) No tip, thanks to the unfriendly service. In retrospect, this is a good thing, because wishing by the staff a pleasant evening was not an...
Read moreThe food was ok. The prices are ok for the location. The service was very kind and attentive if a bit laggy, but was the main reason I gave 4 stars instead of 3. We came in without reservation and were seated at once. After being seated we waited quite a bit until our orders were taken. We ordered drinks, a kids lunch (schnitzel with fries), a feta and spinach filled mushrooms starter, Pork souvlaki dish, and a lamb kottlett dish. The drinks and starter came quite fast. The water I had was partially frozen in the bottle. The starter was tasty but the sauce had a bit of an artificial taste in my opinion. After a while (not too long) we got the mains for us and the kids. My lamb was ok, but I wasn't a fan of the tomato sauce the sides (green beans and potatos) were accompanied with. My wife's Souvlaki was served with rice. It was tasty, and very well seasoned, but was dry. The kids Schnitzel and fries were very good according to them. The whole meal as described set us back 55Euro (plus tip). I liked the ambiance in the restaurant, and the staff was really great. I wish the food was a bit better. We...
Read moreAll in all, it is a great place with decent food and atmosphere. But nothing extra.
Atmosphere: Liked the colors in the establishment - at least they followed the white/blue color scheme. You can enjoy live music in the evening, which is lovely. The overall mood is very Greek and enjoyable.
Food&Drinks: Appetizers: Tzatziki(1 on the menu) and Grilled Pepperoni with Garlic(12) were average. It's not my favorite Tzatziki in the city, but there's nothing to complain about. Having pepperoni with garlic is a nice spicy bitter at the start of dinner. Plus we've got some salad and bread as starters. Mousakas(80 on the menu) - that dish was excellent! The creamy béchamel sauce was on point. This plate is indeed toothsome - a must-try. Greek pan(75) - a stew at its very best. Nothing to add or remove :) Drinks: The beer was good, and the free shots of ouzo were a pleasant surprise - cheers for that!
Service: fast and efficient. However, only one waiter spoke proper English, so you may have issues if you need assistance or recommendations with...
