I honestly have no idea why people here are writing good reviews, it was why I felt convinced to come here, and it was such a disappointment.

I have been in South Korea and since I‘m a big fan of Korean food, I also visited a lot of Korean restaurants and this was the worst so far.

-1⭐️ = The service was so slow, it was only 1 guy who is taking the order and one woman who is bringing the foods, I mean all the tables were full, people were ordering more than one dish and it was just taking edges. -2⭐️ = The foods had no taste, super faraway from authentic. Haemul Paejon (6/10) too crispy, it just not supposed to be like that. Kimbap (8/10) the 'best' food we had here since it had no sauce or uncooked. Even the rice smelled bad, I mean how can u cook bad rice??? I ordered Bulgogi (7,5/10) taste good and wasn‘t that sweet which I liked it, but since the rice was bad it was just ruining the taste. Friend of mine ordered Sundubu Jjigae (2/10) how did u call it a Sundubu Jjigae it was tasteless they were prolly just put Gochugaru/Chili powder in a water and pour the egg, it supposed to be seafood kind of soup but she got only 5 tiny baby octopus in the whole bowl, horrible! Another one ordered Bibimbap (7,5/10) I don‘t know, even the easy dish like this they can‘t make it perfect. Another one got Chicken Bulgogi (7/10) I never tasted sth like this in Korea so Idk where do they got the idea but had taste at least. -3⭐️ = THIS IS VERY UNCOMMON OF KOREAN RESTAURANTS, they don‘t fulfill ur side dishes. I mean, in Korea (just as authentic comparison), every restaurant has a separate table full of side dishes where u can just fulfill as much as u want, or in other Korean restaurants I‘ve been to, they always are open to fulfill ur side dishes. I‘m sorry this is a very essential thing to do in any Korean restaurant, this is just something u need to do and to know.

So yes, I‘m not going to recommend...

We are 4 ppl ordering two sets of Korean BBQ which both should come with a set of side dishes. But they refused to give us two sets of side dishes, instead they told us they made double portion on each small tiny plate because we ordered two sets. My friends who ate there before, sweared the portion for they two alone is not much less than the portion they gave 4 of us. I found it ridiculous that they are so greedy that they refused to give us what we actually paid for. If we will sit on two different tables and order separately they will give us two sets of side dishes. And you need to know, the plate for those Korean side dishes are very small. It can’t not be true that they put double portions on one plate then that means for single portion you get four potatoe cubes, or 4 cucumber slice …and it’s not even very expensive ingredients!!! Potato and cucumber?? Why are they so...

Solo guests not welcomed... I was there this evening with a friend of mine who is severely handicapped and has to follow a very strict diet. Unfortunately he cannot eat anything on the menu in this restaurant. Since I was the only one eating I ordered out of politeness a starter and a main course, even though the main course would have been enough for me really. When I paid, the owner who is extremely unfriendly, told us repeatedly that we would not be allowed to come back if my friend does not order anything (I precise that the place was not full when we were there, so my friend was not taking the place of someone else waiting outside.) To answer to what he replied: there is no way that I come every weekend as I live 900 km away in another country... Once again the restaurant was not full this Saturday when we were there (at 8pm). Your reply shows how...

The bulgogi comes with rice and three side dishes: kimchi, pickled cabbage, and beans in soy sauce. The BBQ tasted authentic like in Korea. It might not be the best Korean BBQ in town, but the portion and the taste well worth the price(15-16.5€/person). The waitress was super friendly, patient and helpful, even though she was really busy dealing with all the tables alone. It was actually my second time visiting this restaurant. The first time didn’t went through because the indoor seats were either occupied or booked. The restaurant owner kindly explained that they only offer half of the indoor seats to keep the 1.5 meter interval between guests. It’s really nice to see restaurant taking the corona regulations seriously, even if they might lose some guest accordingly. 👍 Reservation recommended!

3.5 stars, realistically.. The food is good, nothing extraordinary. They also didn’t have some of the core dishes available, such as the Kimchi pancake (weird, since the other pancakes, seafood+vegetarian, were possible to order…) Anyway, the side dishes were ok, nothing special, and the main dishes were decent. The wait time was way too long! They have one lady working as the main hostess/waitress, doing a good job too, but they definitely need more staff members. It was also very cold inside, since they insisted on keeping the door wide open - I understand the Covid situation, but I really think they could have accommodated the customers better. Overall, I wouldn’t come to Kimchi Mama again, to be honest. Very small space with ok food, so one time was enough.
