Being in Berlin on Good Friday, I decided that seafood was in order. Arata Sushi was nearby, and so went in and asked if they took debit cards... "no". I was directed to the ATM across the street, which I used, but has an inordinately high mark-up on FX... so "come with cash" no plastic accepted. On the food front, very decent. Started with miso soup, and seaweed salad (à la carte) and then a plate 'for 2' (€39) with 6 pieces of nigiri (salmon, tuna, shrimp) and a variety of rolls. In addition to German beer, they have Kirin by the bottle which I chose. There are a good variety of other items on the menu as well: gyoza, yakitori, edamame, noodles. The only negative is the breadth of fish selection. Apart from the 3 mentioned: Butterfish and eel... so, don't look for razor clam or unagi. Service is friendly and atmosphere is convivial if slightly spare. I would more accurately give it a 4.5, but they don't let you do.half stars.

Arata Sushi provides wonderful Sushi. They serve standard Sushi options, such as Maguro Sashimi, Sake Nigiri, Kappa Maki, as well as more unconventional special rolls (tempura rolls) as well as inside-out roll staples and futo maki. They also offer some appetizers and Udon. Quality and freshness were always great when we ordered take-out from the restaurant. They only accept cash payments, so beware of that.

Had a massive bowl of udon that was very filling and flavourful. A few friends got some sushi rolls that were beautifully decorated. Staff was very friendly. There are also many vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. Very recommended for Japanese food in Berlin. The restaurant is quite small but big enough to fit small groups.

Everything was great. That's just it. The food was perfect, it was fun to watch it being made and it was really tasty. The atmosphere is cozy, you feel welcome, and the staff is welcoming, attentive but not intrusive. The prices are really okay as well! There were not many experiments on the menu, which I liked a lot. All in all it was more about not doing anything wrong that made me feel like everything was right at this place. The only downside I noticed was the waiting time for the food. But we came at a very busy time on a Saturday evening, that was to be expected. And it actually didn't take that long, we were just really hungry at the time😁

I would come here again when I'm...

Ridiculous service. We booked a table for three at 21.00 and once we arrived the waiter said “all tables are booked, sorry” I was surprised for such an answer and I asked again about my reservation. He just answered “I know the reservation but what should I do? Should I kicked the people out?” The basic understanding for a reservation is not working in this restaurant. If someone is coming at 21.00 you just “block” the table at 20.00 or 20.30 or if someone wants to sit, you inform that there is a reservation at 21.00. We left without any solutions. Very bad and ridiculous service. I don’t...
