The food was so good that I regretted not visiting them sooner. The sushi was exceptionally delicious, you could taste the freshness of salmon, the favour of nori. The hojicha latte came out with the most silky foam I've ever seen.

But the star of the day was their desserts. We didn't take any photos but we ordered black sesame ice cream and matcha tiramisu. The prices were also reasonable, 4.50€ for 3 big scoops of homemade ice cream, which surprised me because the taste was so flavourful. The tiramisu cream was also delicious, the taste was elegant and paired well with the matcha, I must say, this was the perfect matcha tiramisu for me.

The service was also perfect, they always served with a broad smile, really heart-warming. The atmosphere was also relaxing, we had enough space to comfortably dine and talk without the fear of interfering others.

Definitely come back to try all the dishes...

The food is simple and delicious. The Una Don had a fresh taste, tending towards sweet-ish without it being too strong. The portion was just the perfect size, enough to leave some place for desserts. We shared the tiramisu (I really liked the texture and softness of the flavour), a mochi and the dorayaki with green tea icecream, which was fantastic. I accompanied this with the yuzu lemon tea. I think the prices are fair for the quality of the ingredients - in total we paid an average of 18 eur per person. The service was quick and friendly. The place is furnished with 60-70s pieces and has a cozy athmosphere. I'll definitely come here again - So many things to try! [Edit] Continuously coming back here. The chicken from the chicken don tastes so good. And make sure to try their black sesame ice-cream! Surprising and...

Authentic homemade-style Japanese food and a selection of grocery items & snacks. I loved the sushi: the avocado used was perfectly ripe, the rice is is good, the tamago yaki is homemade. I also loved the teriyaki chicken with tartar sauce: sweet-savoury chicken with the creamy-onion-egg-salad tartar sauce with some perfectly cooked short grain rice.

The flavor profile was entirely authentic too, which I appreciate after having some Korean and Japanese food that was almost fusion because it was adapted to European tastes.

They have frozen tarako and mentaiko as well as the S&B instant pasta sauce version, soy milk daifukus, frozen natto, senbei, sauces and...

Smartdeli is a one of a kind Japanese restaurant and shop in one in Berlin. The atmosphere that the mixture of a local restaurant and shop in one creates is hard to describe for a Western audience, its definitely positive. Its feels like im back living in Asia again. The food is good and there is a wide range of offerings available from sushi to udon and desserts. The shop offers you to buy a variety of Japanese products such as rice, sake, noodles and snacks, some of them you can not even find in the bigger Asian markets in Berlin. I would recommend coming here for lunch as the shop is not open till late. The shop/restaurant is worth a visit even if you do not plan to eat there.
