Returning to this hidden gem in Berlin was an absolute delight. Last year, I dined solo during a business trip and was thoroughly impressed, but this visit with my family allowed us to explore a broader array of dishes, each one as exceptional as the last. The setting is simple yet serene, providing a tranquil escape from the bustling city—a perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal. We started with an array of German tapas that set the tone for the meal, each plate showcasing the fine quality ingredients and attention to detail that define this restaurant. The chanterelles salad with chèvre-filled peaches was a standout, a harmonious blend of earthy and sweet flavors that left a lasting impression. Of course, we came here for the schnitzel, and it did not disappoint. The veal was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and flavorful, paired with an unbelievable potato salad that elevated the dish even further. The portions were generous, the big plates barely contained them—a testament to the hearty, satisfying nature of the food. The kids ordered the cordon bleu, which was equally delicious, served with fresh legumes and homemade fries that were a hit with the whole family. Despite the abundance of food, we couldn’t resist dessert, sharing what was easily the best apple strudel I’ve had in years and a chocolate mousse with almond nougat that was simply to die for. In every aspect, this dining experience exceeded expectations. Whether you're here for the schnitzel or to sample a variety of expertly prepared dishes, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic, high-quality cuisine in Berlin.

A Scrumptious Culinary Journey at Schnitzelei I recently had the pleasure of dining at Schnitzelei, and I can confidently say it was a delightful culinary experience. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the Willkommensdrink was the perfect way to kick off my dining adventure. The tapas selection at Schnitzelei is not to be missed. Each dish was beautifully presented, packed with flavor, and showcased the chef's attention to detail. I highly recommend trying a variety of their tapas options to fully appreciate the diverse and delicious offerings. The main course, a succulent Bavarian schnitzel, left me thoroughly impressed. Cooked to perfection, the schnitzel was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The accompanying sides were equally satisfying, making for an all-around delightful entrée. However, the real stars of the night were the desserts. The Marillen Knödel, a traditional Austrian apricot dumpling, was a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. The Toblerone mousse was a luxurious treat that melted in my mouth, leaving me craving more. Overall, my experience at Schnitzelei was nothing short of exceptional. With its fantastic food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service, I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Don't forget to indulge in their exquisite dessert offerings - you won't be disappointed!

This restaurant is genuinely fantastic! It's not just about the delicious food – the whole experience is pretty great. First off, the location is perfect, and the vibe is nice. They offered us complimentary beer at the start, which was a thoughtful touch. The menu had some amazing options, and everything we ordered was excellent. The service is where this place shines. The waiters were not only friendly but also knew their stuff. They made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. However, I have to mention that the person at the entrance seemed a bit off – not very welcoming and a bit impatient. Inside, the atmosphere was lively, but it was surprisingly noisy even without any music playing. If you're looking for a quieter spot, this might not be it. Also, the prices were a bit on the higher side, so keep that in mind. One tip: it's better to have a reservation before you go, especially during peak times. Despite these minor points, I'd still recommend giving it a try. The overall experience, with its fantastic food and friendly service, outweighs these small hiccups. It's a cool spot, just be ready for a bit of noise and a slightly higher bill.

Simply amazing schnitzel and German tapas for starters. Everything was delicious from the giant main courses all the way down to the bread for the table. It had a wonderful bustling atmosphere, dividers and curtains muffling what may have been an otherwise echoy space. The staff were warm and welcoming and you are greeted with a small beer, on the house! I had the Jaeger Schnitzel with the spaetzle and every mouthful (that I managed to fit) was spectacular. We shared a selection of German tapas to start, highlights include the meatball and the goats cream. For the dessert I shared the dessert tapas (an excellent option for those of us who are indecisive). The Toblerone Chocolate Mousse is a little on the sweet side for my liking but that is down to preference thing and the only flaw I could find in the whole affair. To drink, the green or red Berliner Weisse is an excellent option if you are looking for something lighter than a beer. At only 2.5% if feels akin to a shandy with a woodruff or raspberry syrup providing a delicate flavour.

Vegetarians: Yeah, nah. This place is neither a traditional source of the ultimate comfort food, nor a new take...falling though the cracks like that 5 cent piece you ignore when you come across it years later. The 2 ordered, both veg don't make it. The cauliflower is not the gorgeous centre whole cut, steamed then crumbed and fried we'd hoped for. More, a stodgy off cut pancake with all the character of a mummy. But it was a character actor compared to the celeriac, which had somehow come from a factory farm intent on size, not flavour. The cauliflower came with steamed veggies, not even adorned with seasoning and olive oil, and the celeriac found a reasonable salad of cucumber and potato. That was as close as we came to satisfaction. The atmosphere really misses any mark, resulting in what those charming old beer halls must have felt like the day they opened...the service was efficient, saving the biggest smile for post tip glow...tip your waiter...its not their fault.

It's definitely worth a try at this fancy German cuisine. Personally, it's a whole new experience to try German dishes, but I am glad I chose Schnitzelei Mitte for the first time at Berlin. The German tapas were very delicious indeed, we picked 3 various tapas, Blutwurst (blood sausage, served with apple compote), Kleine Rostbratwürstchen (small sausages served to sauerkraut), and Forellenmousse ( trout mousse, creamy and smoky). They were like appetizers in small portions, which I am very satisfied with, exceeded my expectations, and I immediately was very looking forward to having the main courses right away. Ordered LACHSFORELLE (Farmed salmon trout served with a crispy parmesan-peppercornbread-crust, with colorful garden vegetables and lemon) , and VOM LANDSCHWEIN (Country pig from Swabian-Hall, pounded thin and baked in our homemade breading). Love both of them a lot, and absolutely filled with gratitude and joy after the very fabulous lunch.
