Read moreThe wet burrito was interesting. Rice was thinner than what I usually expect for rice in mexican dishes. Filling tasted more like chili than normal burrito fixings. It came with a little salad that had quite a variety of things in it. But it was tasty and it worked. The large size for soft drinks was actually bigger than I expected for Germany, and I had to get a to-go cup. Almost all of the seating is outdoors, there are very few tables inside. This is fine unless somebody decides to smoke right next to where you are trying to eat. So much for taste! I have no idea what they do in the winter... serve only 5 tables? The restroom was a curious experience. It seemed like the only light was from an underlight on the sink and small mood lights pointed at the facilities. So you stumbled around a bit. The hallway to the restroom evidently has a trap door to the cellar in the middle of it, and they put a chain up to prevent people from going in when they use it. But if one is already in the restroom when they do that, you might have quite a surprise coming out! I had to do a bit of gymnastics to get out, and then I had to fight with that chain over the exit... I was entertained! Anyway, coming from LA, Mexican food is on every corner, and so I'm somewhat spoiled for authentic choices. This place was more like the dressy restaurant kind of Mexican food, but still tasted great. BTW: I think this is a chain of restaurants, since I saw another one from the train in a different area. So if you are a "local flavor" kinda...
Read moreWe visited Que Pasa early Friday evening when there were very few customers but people starting to arrive. The ambience and menu looked good but the food was average and the service terrible. We ordered 2 starters and 2 main courses. When my starter arrived (empenadas de queso) I bit in to one to find it frozen in the middle. I politely told the waiter that it was frozen, he simply took the plate away without a sorry or explanation only to arrive back at the table within a few minutes with my half bitten pastry which had obviously just been stuck in the microwave given back to me without any word. I was shocked, I have worked in catering many years and also enjoy eating out very often but have never seen or experienced that. Usually there would definitely be an apology and usually a new plate at least brought out. But nothing. The water than proceeded to roll his eyes at us with every request. By the end of the meal we were very annoyed and not once did the staff ask how the meal was or check if we wanted desserts/coffees etc... AND to top it all off we then found out they didn't accept card payments, cash only. Which is fine if customers are made aware in advance, especially during current climate where most establishments are expecting customers to pay with card to avoid cash payments. Overall the food was hit and miss with 1 starter being delicious the other obviously frozen, 1 main course was basic fast food and the fajitas although lacking in toppings were very tasty. We wouldnt...
