Pagode Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Berlin

We ordered the pad kra pow and were shocked when we collected the food.. when we showed the lady how an authentic pad kra pow should look like, she just shrugged her shoulders.. I’m really shocked because the restaurant looked really authentic with all the awards and yet they’re doing such injustice to their own national dish 😳 I felt really bad for bringing my German friends to this restaurant because Thai food should not taste like this .. I think it’s better to just rename the dish to “chop suey rice”… Giving 2 stars here because the curry dish, drinks and atmosphere were good. You would be better off ordering the noodles but the “pad kra pow”is a huge no go. Please, for the love of god, stop calling this pad kra pow 😢 💔 🙏...

3.5 stars... What I liked: Nice staff, very fast service and kitchen, low prices (great value), nice satay sauce, fresh prawn crackers, the whole mixed appetizer plate was nice and good value. What I liked less: Food is very adapted to local palette, 3 chilli´s spicy still meant almost no spice at all, my pad kaprao had 2 leaves of holy basil and was a bit bland, the noodles in the pad thai were on the soft side. It´s obvious they make some culinary compromises to stay affordable. Schade! Kann hier nur mein Vorredner bestätigen. Ich bin hier nach langer Zeit wieder mal mit meiner Familie hergekommen. Mitarbeiter würdigen einen nicht eines Blickes, kein lächeln. Bin ich von Thais nicht gewohnt. Tische sind runter aber für diese Gegend akzeptabel. Die Mitarbeiter sind unter sich. Ich habe den Eindruck das der Kunde nur als Nebenerscheinung Auftritt, nicht als Kunde. Das Essen ist total fad. Ich habe eine Mitarbeiterin auf das fade Essen angesprochen. "Entschuldigung, die Suppe ist total fad". Leider runzelte die nur mit der Stirn und ging rein. Ich bin total schockiert was aus der guten alten Thai Pagode geworden ist. Geschmack ist nix. Schade war mal anderes. Wahrscheinlich weil die ganze Bergmannstr. zur Touristenstraße geworden ist. Ich brauche keine Gutscheine oder Geschenke sondern meine alte Pagode mit Geschmack, damit ich als Berliner kein Touristenessen essen muss. Bitte ändern!

Pity! Can only confirm the previous speaker here . I 'm so came here after a long time with my family . Employees appreciate a not a glance , not a smile . Am I of Thais unaccustomed . but tables are down acceptable for this area . The employees are located . I have the impression that the customer only as a byproduct of appearance , not as a customer . The food is totally bland . I approached a staff member on the bland food . " We are sorry , the soup is totally bland " . Unfortunately, wrinkled with the forehead and went inside. I am totally shocked what happened to the good old Thai Pagoda . Taste is nothing . Too bad time was different . Probably because the whole Bergmannstr . has become a tourist road . I do not need coupons or gifts but my old pagoda with taste , so I as Berlin must not eat tourist food...
