Bellissimo — Restaurant in Berlin

Very hit and miss. Went there twice in the space of a week and completely contrasting experiences.

First meal was excellent, good portions, with an attentive waiter. They forgot one of the dishes we ordered, but there was sufficient quantity of food we didn't mind. Restaurant was busy, but not crowded.

Second time was terrible. Bruschetta was burnt, the pasta was either nuclear hot (microwaved sauce ?) or lukewarm (depending on which one you chose). Service was shockingly bad (slow, and difficult to get anyone's attention). Was overcharged for the meal (they added someone else's food and drinks to our order), and when we queried it took 10 minutes of negotiation before they agreed. Offered some shots in compensation, but as none of us were drinking alcohol at the time, it was pointless.

The second visit, they basically couldn't handle the number of covers, despite the restaurant not being full.

If you're going to go, make sure it's quiet, you'll have an amazing meal. If it's busy, go look for somewhere...

20241229 We ordered 2 glasses of white wine but got a whole bottle instead. Then next round we ordered 1 glad of red and 1 glas of white but instead we got 2 glasses of white. The waiter was stressed and did a bad jobb he did not write anything down and he could not remeber anything. We also ordered a birthday celebration cake which never came. We left after some really bad service.

20241228 we was there also and got great service for a tall rather slim guy but he was not there 20241229 Very good food and great staff!

They served the food amazingly fast. We got all meals within 10 minutes.

Only negative thing was that the roof spotlights was very bright so it was not really a cosy feeling with the candel lights.

Discovered this delightful little gem on our last day in Berlin and wished we had discovered it on our first! After a long day of sight-seeing on foot our Salmon Taglietelle was just what the doctor ordered - the sauce was subtle and creamy, the pasta beautifully al dente, and the salmon was melt-in-the-mouth delicious! My son followed up with white chocolate profiteroles and they didn’t disappoint either - our table was laden with bread and olives before we had even begun, and Sebastian our server was brilliant, going above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely evening. Set in a beautiful courtyard, all in all this was an exceptional experience, affordable prices with delicious food and wonderful service, what’s not to love! We will be back for sure next time we...
