Cafe Intimes — Restaurant in Berlin

Not recommended – overcharged by €90. We were a group of around 20 people on June 1st, drinking at this bar. Everyone paid for their own drinks. At the end of the night, when the place was closing, we were told there was still an unpaid bill of €90. We immediately called each other and checked all receipts. Everyone had paid. Despite this, the staff insisted there was a remaining bill and pressured us by threatening to call the police. To avoid problems, we paid – but later realized we were overcharged. I’m sorry but honesty this place is setup to fail. One girl was running her shoes off with a large outside seating area and a large inside area. We waited a lot for menus and even longer for drinks. And it was 32-34 degrees. I really felt sorry for the waiter. Saw 2-3 people in the kitchen. I tried to help by ordering at the bar, but I wasn’t allowed (why?). We ordered only drinks, left a tip and I was asked where the tip was (that was very rude). So I’m ready to call this a tourist trap. Toilets do need a real cleaning. Lots of limestone and the gents smelled like piss...

Food was good and not too pricy, they've got a great allergen list and the friend I was with who has many allergies was able to eat safely. Unfortunately I had a salad which gave me bad digestive distress then I had some kind of allergic reaction. I don't actually have any allergies, so that was incredibly strange. Everything was great until that point though.
