Calm Coffee — Restaurant in Berlin

I came to try those famous vegan buns. I took matcha latte and raspberry pistachio Cinnabon. Matcha tasted really good and I liked the texture- there was no matcha powder sediment in it! And the foam was thick. So good

But the buuuun. It was oily and greasy, literally floating in oil on the bottom of the plate, the dough wasn’t soft. Moreover the outside of plate was all in jam which made my hands, phone (and even hair🤣I have accidentally touched them before I could notice the jam) dirty. I guess the Cinnabon wasn’t fresh, it was probably baked yesterday or the day before yesterday. Before serving the bun was microwaved, yk what happens with the texture of a cold old fatty donut if you microwave it? It was the same

People there are nice tho, I liked the atmosphere. There were some books all over the cafe - that’s cute as well.

Ah. Soooo Ig I wouldn’t recommend that place. Mb just to grab a drink for a take out. I was so upset as I wanted to visit this place since October for their buns but now I am disappointed🥹

Ps there are a lot of people who come to grab their drink. I wouldn’t recommend this place to study if you prefer silent calm atmosphere but for other purposes like hanging out with...

Cinnamon rolls are amazing Banana+matcha pudding made me love matcha! I hated matcha, never had a good one even though tried it in many places. This one was delicious! Coffee is tasty, I got iced cappuccino.

But what really was great is service. If the owner is reading this review, give that Asian barista with a buzz cut and glasses a raise please! Or at least some bonus :) I am a clumsy pregnant woman who first forgot to mention that coffee needs to be decaf and barista redid it with no issues. And then accidentally spilled the whole cup on a table and floor. The barista was very nice and polite, immediately came to clean my mess telling it’s ok and things happen. Then he brought me a new coffee because mine was gone + offered me wet wipes making sure I didn’t get myself dirty.

I will definitely come back again with my friends and family. Great food, great service,...

Over the last two years this has become one of my favorite coffee shops here in Berlin and being the coffee lover I am, I've been to a bunch. Friendliest staff, great coffee (the Salted Caramel Latte and Rose Latte with a shot of espresso during winter are a dream), matcha (especially the matcha cheese tea during summer) and food. Especially the relatively new vegan sweet buns are the best I have ever had anywhere in Berlin. My favorite flavor would have to be either classic or matcha, but I have yet to try a bunch of other ones. I won't ever stop coming here. And even when there is an occasional queue and a little wait – Calm Coffee ist absolutely worth it. Top Tip: when I show up on Sunday morning, right at opening time, I almost never have to wait.
