After hearing many good things about this place, I finally had the chance to go with a friend, who had visited this place a couple of times.
Surprisingly, we had a horrible experience. First of all, we were shocked that, after waiting half an hour to be served, we found out that we had to go to the bar to place our order. This seems to be a new rule as before, the waiters used to come to the bar. Nobody told us so we waited and waited and waited.....
I am a coffee lover and this place is supposed to have a good one. So I ordered one and it was horrible. It tasted very bad leaving a strange aftertaste at the end. I don't know if the coffee filters weren't cleaned properly or it was the cup, that had some soap rests. But it tasted horrible. I complained to the waiter and his reply was that there was nothing he could do about it. Maybe he could change it but the coffee was fine and that wasn't going to solve my problem. And he went to another table without even having the intention of changing my coffee. Of course, I didn't drink it. This was the same waiter who seated us and before that he was really unfriendly.
The only good thing is that the food was very good but of course, the unfriendly and rude waiter made the whole experience unpleasant. I doubt I will be back.

Read moreHonestly, I love Cebe coffee roasters chain. I go to other locations with pleasure, the coffee quality is good, the croissants are delicious, there’s a wide selection of breakfasts and brunches and the baristas are usually nice. Usually, but not always. At this particular store, there is one rude barista (wish I knew his name), who yelled at me just because I asked for TAP water. It is no surprise that any decent coffee shop offers a glass or, in coffee shops in Kyiv, even a decanter of water for free when you take a coffee. In other words - it is common sense. At this Cebe location, when I kindly asked for water, a barista brought me initially just a half glass (100 ml). When I came to fill in my glass at the counter (which is a normal practice everywhere else and also saves barista’s time), he yelled “this is bad for the store”, “for 1 cup of coffee you only can get THIS MUCH of water”. When I asked “sorry, isn’t this tap water?” his answer was “yes, but this should be the last time I see you do this OK???”. This man doesn’t know anything about...

But... I have to say I feel rather uncomfortable with how the toilets are organized at this one Cebe (I am not sure about how it is at the other locations), and am quite surprised by it as well. The thing is: there is a female and a male restroom, but the 'baby changing station' is only available at the female restroom.
Taking care of a baby is not the mother's duty only. It is a shared responsibility, and this set up feels sexist. On top of that, a father or any male with a baby would encounter the issue of getting into the female restroom in order to take care of their baby, which is not right and can be easily avoided if:
both toilets are made gender neutral (yes!) with a sign indicating which one has a baby area or a baby changer is added to the male restroom instead.
I hope my feedback is taken seriously. I like the place a lot, and have been many times, but this...
