Papaleo — Restaurant in Berlin

WOW. The Pizza of the week blew my mind! Thin and airy dough, a mushroom cream in the back to bring umami, cheese, homemade pesto and the smoky and salty touch of Nduja sausage, it was a truly perfect combo.

The pasta carbonara was also very good, but the sauce could have been a bit less watery for my taste.

Both, and a 1/4L of Nero d'avola came out at round 40€.

Overall, the prices are very good, starting for pizza about 11€ and for pasta 12€ ; the vegetarian selection is also good, though it would be easier if they would be grouped, or labelled as so on the menu. A really cozy small pizza restaurant right behind the samariterkirche on bänschstraße. My SO had the El Diablo which was perfectly spicy and tasty af.

I had the motti which was a nice balanced pizza with prosciutto, ruccola and an awesome tomato sauce.

The service was nice, even though our server didn't know much English. The only reason I'm not giving the place a full five is because they should cook the pizza for a minute or two more, to just knock it out of the ballpark.

Also, the cook has a great taste in music and they often sang along to classic 60/70's rock tunes. Which just improved the atmosphere.

Ein Kurztrip nach Italien gefällig? Dann nichts wie los, ins Papaleo, ab zum Löwen Papa 🦁🧓..🙉 und schon ist man drin, im Italocharme...eh, was e du Macke hier? Wolle Pizza, oder peefekte Spaghetti, e? Wenn man reinkommt, stößt man direkt auf den originalen, extra eingeflogen oder zumindest perfekt grcasteten Pizzabäcker, der isse wie Originale, kapische...und wenne Pizza oder fertig, er dann auch schreit wie originale...dazwischen beim zubereiten scheut er sich Nichte auch Mal ein italienischen Schlager zu singen...auch optisch ist er originale...dünn und klein, sehr Temperamente voll und die Frisur, perfeete...ansonsten angenehmes Ambiente, gedimmtes Licht, kleine Tischchen, auch draußen angenehm, in schönster Straße im Samariterkiez,...sonntags kann man von der Predigt vom Padre in der Samariterkirche⛪direkt rüber schlendern und Pasta essen...die Bedienungen sind auch professionell, und die Chefin (sag ich jetzt Mal so) ist auch Originale...Essen ist super gehoben und originale...auch wenn man ne Pizza zum Mitnehmen holt und nicht drin sitzen und bedient werden will passt es super, weil man die Pizza gleich aus dem Karton inmitten der Bänschstrasse auf nee Bank sitzend essen...
