Die Kaffeefreunde — Restaurant in Berlin

I had to wait for my breakfast for almost 30 minutes. Boiled egg, some ham, yogurt, butter and vegetables. The coffee shop was half full. No reaaon why it would last so long. I was sitting right next to the bar where you can see the kitchen and saw nobody in a rush to get food ready.

When I received My food it hit me that it was not what I ordered. It was not their fault, the menu translation was off. It said chicken breast but it was actually chiecken breast HAM.

after I ate I asked for a latte and some tap water. Clients came and went in the meantime. They ordered their coffees and received them. Everybody was ordering in german. I ordered in english.

At a point there was no clients asking for anything and no orders to get ready. The coffee machine was resting. I was looking at it and thinking how much I do not want to be confrontational today. It it woman’s day, I wanted to spoil myself with a nice breakfast and coffee, but instead I received the worst treatment and attitude for no reason.

I finally asked again for the coffee and water and received them from another employee. Nobody apologized.

I think It was the worst experience I had in a cafe/...

Be careful if you got there by yourself, even if you plan on ordering a big breakfast and sit silently, you will be thrown out because you dare have a laptop with you to check your emails. It‘s 2023, the world is evolving but apparently not here. And I would have understood if someone is staying more than 1-2 hours or having calls. But this is extreme.

FYI: to respond to the owner: a laptop can be used for other things than work, especially for someone sitting by themselves, I could have watched videos/written notes and emails on my phone and it would have been the same. Your Hausordnung...

Lovely café place with plenty of outdoor seating possibilities, located in a mostly quiet side street. The interior design is bright and friendly. Staff was alright, for Berlin standards. The cappuccino & flat white we had were not much different from each other and tasted alright. The prices are unfortunately bit too high, considering that you don't even get a biscuit/cookie with the coffee and no water is served along with the coffee. Besides, nice neighborhood café place to enjoy a timeout at....
