I used to love this place and was coming here last five years and recommended it to many friends over the years too. But after today, I’m truly disappointed. We came in a group of girls for an early dinner and a lot of tables were still free. We were told we had to leave in 90 minutes, even though our table wasn’t reserved by anyone else. After just 30 minutes, we were told we couldn’t order anything anymore because other people were waiting. Still we got our food and drinks and then the owner himself came and spoke to us in an extremely impolite and disrespectful manner, telling us, that we can just leave and go to another restaurant next door. Our question, why people, that just arrived spontaneously and waiting to be seated (as we earlier), could not do the same - was not answered. The tone and handling of the situation were absolutely inadequate and extremely rude. None of us has ever experienced such treatment in a restaurant before.

Sadly, I can no longer recommend this place after such an...

I've been looking forward to trying out their GF ramen for ages and I was surprised, very, very surprised, because their GF noodle is Konjac!

Coming from Japan, I'm familiar with it in traditional cooking and I've been aware that in the west, it's hailed as non calorie pasta.

On the one hand, I have insulin resistance issue so, it was a pleasant surprise that I'm not consuming carb after hardly eating all day. On the other, I've hardly eaten all day 😅

The miso broth was OK, but too mild for me. I had to ask for salt. They also brought chilli oil and paste, but just the oil was enough to kill already delicate miso flavour.

So, if you're GF, on a diet or curious to try Konjac, it may be worth it. The type of noodles weren't specified in the menu so, I do feel deceived.

The presentation was decent but adding bean sprouts won't hurt. Chashu pork were good so are rest of garnish.

Staff were polite and friendly but it's one of those "Japanese" restaurants that are run by...

I had been searching for a long time for a restaurant in Berlin that serves authentic Tonkotsu Ramen, and I have to say—it’s not an easy find. While ramen is growing in popularity, finding this specific style, let alone one done right, is a rare treat. Finally, after much searching, I’ve found the perfect spot.

Tonkotsu Ramen is a traditional Japanese dish originating from Fukuoka, known for its rich and creamy pork bone broth, which is simmered for hours to extract deep, savory flavors. This style of ramen is distinct for its milky white soup. The broth is paired with thin, straight noodles, slices of tender chashu pork, and classic toppings like marinated eggs (Ajitsuke Tamago).

At this restaurant, every element of the dish hit the mark. The broth was rich and flavorful without being overwhelming, the toppings were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the noodles had that ideal chewy texture. For anyone in Berlin craving an authentic Tonkotsu Ramen, this is absolutely the...

Charming japanese restaurant with a wide selection of dishes (the menu is literally 15-20 pages long). The restaurant is easily accessible with BVG as it is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from the nearest U6 station. I also saw a tramline on a road passing by the restaurant. Service is fast and professional, not only was the waitress friendly and helpful, she also spoke perfect english and german. The menu id quite varied, with options ranging from tapas dishes, to ramens, bento boxes, or the abundant Chotto plates, of which there are two. The menu also comes with a modest coctail list, I believe they serve about 8-10 different coctails, some of which are traditional ones (Hugo), others are the spiced up version of popular coctails, like the green tea mojito, which I would wholeheartedly recommend. Prices were fair, we paid about 70 euros for two main dishes, two drinks, and some extra rolls we wanted to taste, which seems reasonable.

We love Chotto from the first visit. We have been there several times in last couple weeks and tried couple different items from their menu. They have great bento boxes and they are right amount for lunch. Ramen (I tried only miso ramen) is among my favourite ramen in Berlin. Try bowls! Chotto bowl is great choice for lunch. We also tried miso soup and gyoza and we liked them very much. The service is very friendly, fast and attentive. They serve complimentary tea right away after they give you a table. We love it! Why don't all restaurants do that? The interior design is consistent and creates good warm vibe. On a sunny day there's nice view through the windows. The windows themselves are well revitalised historical ones which also adds warmth to the interior. Hint for parents: toilet walls are covered with adult comic book pages
