I am so disappointed. I was excited to go and enjoy but it already started with a letdown. First we were told that we only had 1h45min for a table of four, after all the starters came randomly, which is guess is not that bad the same happened for the mains, so while some needed to start to not have cold food others were left waiting at the table. The drinks order was taken late but at least they came before the food, which cannot be said for the coffee which came 10 min after the desert. In the meantime the waitress was quite pushy in removing our mains, when we asked if we could stay a little longer and have desert. We were granted 15 min. All that is not too bad but the worst thing was when it came to paying. I understand it’s a pain to separate but we literally were asked to calculate it ourselves in how much everyone was paying and got a lot of pressing looks by the shift manager. Really, it left a very sour taste in our mouth. Definitely will not come back. Quality of the food was fine, the pulpo was quite rough. Patatas bravas were super tasty, bread for 5€ were literally 5 thin slices, the rice with Sephia was nice but best one for me was the cheesecake which was like a cloud,...
Read moreFor a Spanish person, I can say that this is, beyond any doubt, the best way to get a full Spanish gastronomical experience in Berlin. The details on every dish and the taste of the food are just what you would find in Spain itself. Appart from the evident command of traditional Catalan cuisine from the chefs, I have to make a special mention to the quality of the ingredients, directly imported from Spain.
We started with some entry dishes to open our apetite, honor mention to the jamón and the escalivada (if you are into anchovies, this is a must). The octopus made in the pan with mashed potatoes comes directly from Galicia to your plate, and that kind of quality and flavor is not something you see every day, outstanding. Just when you think it can not get better, you'll be surprised with wild shrimps made in the pan with salt and garlic, just delicious.
We finished with something sweet, the crema catalana was one of the best I've tried.
Overall, incredible experience, attentive and friendly service, and prime quality ingredients.
We will sure return for enjoying the...
Read moreFrom the vibrant streets of Catalonia to the pulsing heart of Berlin, D.O. Restaurant beautifully encapsulates the essence of Catalan cuisine. Their wine selection is nothing short of spectacular, offering a curated range that pays homage to both classic and contemporary tastes.
The staff at D.O. shines just as brightly as their culinary offerings. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine friendliness enhance the dining experience, making you feel both treasured and at home.
When it comes to appetizers, the tapas are a revelation – each bite transports you straight to the sunny coasts of Spain. However, while the main dishes hold promise, they somewhat fall short of the lofty standards set by their tapas counterparts.
In conclusion, D.O. is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a slice of Catalonia in Berlin. While there's room for improvement in the main courses, the overall experience is delightful...
